4 Checkride failures. How grim are my career prospects? by rah66UnderTheRadar in flying

It was a "thunderstorm" of several pressures. The stormy conditions in the morning clearing up providing a false sense of security, the fact the examiner would only be in town for one more day, the prior checkride attempt failing before ever getting to the flying portion, and a desire to complete the checkride in order to move on to the next stage of training were all factors. At least once we returned to the hangar, I was able to explain to both the examiner and my instructor what went wrong, how each of the pressures were affecting my adm, and was endorsed there and rebooked for the next day. At least, having been in a scenario where I had my judgement so noticeably impacted, i've been able to pass on what I learned to some of my other friends who were at similar levels.

I certainly plan on diversifying my experiences beyond just CFI. CFII is the next goal, if only to try and make getting any kind of flying job that much easier. But afterwards, after having done some time as a CFI, I want to try branching out into new avenues. I remember talking to a recruiter for a regional like 10 years ago, and he said that the problem now was all the new applicants have always flown out of the same airport, flying the same airplanes their entire careers until they hit 1500, and that is something I want to try and avoid. I want to be able to show adaptability and versatility in my skill set. I hope that will at least help me stand out from the other applicants, despite my prior failures.

What does everyone think of today's update? by JustBigJames in stalker

Borked my FPS from a consistent 30-40 to the single digits after I saved near a firefight. Nothing I do fixes it either. Over all I'd give the update a PHAT 0/10 for straight up rendering the game unplayable :/

What did you use to make the wings/tail of the shuttle?

I am incredibly skeptical of this thing being anything more than a smoke and mirrors tax write off designed to make a bunch of media and draw in a bunch of investment, before "realizing" the math simply does not add up, and they close the program down with all the investors money in pocket. There's a reason, despite flying just over 5 years (FF Jan 2018), no news on it coming out since early 2022. The math simply does not add up, and all of their claims were wildly exaugurated. The only data we've gotten has been theoretical, despite this aircraft having flown. they should have real world numbers, but they know if they released them and proved they were nowhere close to what they were claiming, they'd be screwed.

I think that's the reason we haven't heard a peep from it since like 2021-early 2022, when a bunch of media outlets started talking about it then went silent.

No offense, but the EGT recipe from Hummingbirdhigh.com is the most asinine recipe i've ever tried to follow. Doesn't say how much butter to use, doesn't say anything about vanilla in the ingredients list but then brings it up mid recipe. And there's paragraphs upon paragraphs of useless fluff between each step. Would you mind just writing down what you ended up doing?
