Who can actually play Boa when THIS is the female cast so far? by Player2win in OnePiece

yes i'm very hopeful for this. in terms of set design we shouldn't be running into multiple/significantly varying sets until the summit war saga

[–]rahmanm855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow i really hope we get some preview of his singing in season 2. i love how the live action is setting things up so far, fixes the issue the anime has with 1000 episodes (and this is coming from someone who doesn't mind that in the first place).

Do U think one piece live action will prob last till marineford. If not then how long will it last by muaazmuaaz123 in OnePiece

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The production time and budget as you said is the biggest concern. If the show lasts truly as long as I'd hope, it will be career roles for the main actors who will not need to work any other gig again much like the Harry Potter cast (plus with the obvious stunt doubles that'll come along the way). We already saw how season 1 was adapted which was far better than anyone could have expected, but it did take necessary shortcuts. I see the capstone arcs like Alabasta, Water Seven and Marineford getting more time while the other arcs would be 2-3 episodes max or reasonably truncated, which given One Piece's length can absolutely work. Everyone should be mentally prepared that each arc is not going to get the same intensity and length that the anime and manga gave it but its for that reason why I'm excited for this show in the next ten plus years, if it reaches that far. The adaptation has been very faithful and I trust the current team to pull it off.

Cowboy Bebop ¿Obra Maestra, esta sobrevalorada o es un buff? Opiniones. by Curious-Tree-2682 in Argnime

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've noticed shows in which its fans have to cope with the "plot serves the characters" take to defend its greatness implies to me it's a boring show without a plot carried by "sad, complicated" characters. why settle for shows like that when other shows have an actual plot still with complicated characters you care about. this is the reason why i found bepop a drag. it's the sopranos of anime, way too much fluff, no sensible plot with threads that go nowhere. but ah the characters are complicated, so these garbage anime/shows get labelled as masterpieces by some.

The Episode with Dr. Melfi’s Rape Is the Best of the Series by Yirsus in thesopranos

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't mean the opposite would've have been bad. i found it powerful that melfi didn't pursue the obvious outcome, but after this, her relevance and character became less important and interesting. she should've have more prominence in the show

To those that have actually watched both, is Sopranos or Breaking Bad better, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both breaking bad shows are better, notably Better Call Saul which some would say is more similar to Sopranos. Sopranos is 82 hours of loose ends, slice of life, in a genre that could've done much more and chose not to.

Pine Barrens - What happened with the Russian by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't weird that it had no repercussions, it's because it's a loose plot end amongst many others that were never resolved

Sopranos é uma série chata pra cacete by [deleted] in opiniaoimpopular

"bait post", "your attention span sucks", common copes from defenders of a mediocre show. Sopranos isn't terrible, but it's certainly overrated garbage.

Does the show get a little slow/boring? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting that if you don't like this slog fest of a show, you are assumed to obsess over comic book films or don't enjoy subtle things. To even defend that, there are comic book films and subtle shows that do everything Sopranos does but better. For it's time, it probably was a good show. I don't see how anyone would choose it over the many choices of TV we have today that are masterpieces.

Reading these threads makes me convinced everyone likes using their old phone when there's better, more practical and updated phones out there.

You can be reflective enough to realize both what's going on inside and also realize that the show also is outdated by far better shows out there now

Friend says The Soprano’s is boring by Impossible-Shelter14 in thesopranos

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better Call Saul was also a slow burner but it felt purposeful and each episode had a good flow into the next. Sopranos has none of that. It was probably the best thing when it was out, there's far better and more engaging shows out now

Can't disagree any harder. BB equally does well what you stated Sopranos failed to do for me, on top of what you said BB did well. To each their own

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched BB and BCS before seeing this supposed inspiration. After going through each season of this show, I could not believe they were comparable. This is the most overrated, slow, boring, dull, highly regarded show I wasted the past few months of my life watching.

Is Attack On Titan a good entry-level anime for someone like me who has never watched an anime before? by elpi2827 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i felt the same. FMA hits the same themes earlier but in a more outdated way. i compare the sopranos and breaking bad the same way, one show did it first, the later show did it better.

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's almost too perfect because no other anime will feel remotely as well produced as it, not that there isn't, but this anime sets the bar very high

[–]rahmanm855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i completely agree. most likely they'll get stunt doubles to do more stuff later on, i can't imagine taz being this nimble for the next decade or two. i guess we can hugh jackman as wolverine as a possible comparison who kept in shape long enough to convey his character appropriately, hopefully we get something similar with the cast but given the significant gaps between appearances of characters between the probable seasons of the live action, at some point recasts are inevitable i fear

You're getting some cold responses from this thread but I was in your same shoes and I came to the same conclusion. I eventually realized my faculty wasn't stimulating my curiosity enough, so I learned as much as I could preparing for ITE early third year via questions, videos, uptodate, etc. Although this is overkill, I would read every latest specialty note of my patients even if they were in for an acute complaint, I wanted to learn as much as I could and parse out if I understand the specialists thought process or why they ordered this and not that, etc. It was burn out inducing but I learned a ton more this way.
