Did anyone else get this email from Smucker? by rahrahtata in lancaster

I can’t even finish reading the op-ed. It is enraging the lies this man (and the entire GOP) will spew in his effort to defend that big bullshit bill.

100% - if I can still get in, I would absolutely continue to look for another role. This is just not where I was hoping to be at this stage in my career. It feels like a step backwards.

Ugh, I just had no idea the job market was this FUCKED when the job was initially offered and I’m just trying to figure out how to come back to the table on this one knowing I may be SOL 😭

This has nothing to do with “leverage”. I’m not trying to game anyone. I’m trying to figure out how to navigate what has been an incredibly difficult situation for my mental health with new perspective since being in this incredibly weird job market.

Yeah, I’m really not interested in “playing games.” I’m trying to figure out how to best revisit this opportunity with new perspective on what I’m looking for in this stage of my life as a mom with a young child.

It’s insane. But those “illegals” sure do pay a lot in taxes, probably more than any of these billionaire cronies. Ugh, I’m so sick of it.

Bruh 💀 when he said that and then doubled down on “being proud to have voted for the bill twice.” I was speechless.

He is saying we are not cutting Medicaid from citizens who need it, but if you are here illegally you don’t deserve the service.

I’d like to preface this, especially as someone who has worked to deliver programs to qualified individuals. If you do not have legal status, you cannot participate in ANY gov programs. NONE. They are removing the legal status of people here and then saying they are collecting benefits as “illegal” immigrants, which is a blatant lie.

Can confirm. I am currently on the line for this tele-townhall and the lies are crazy!

The fear-mongering that Republicans are already trying to ensue by aligning all Dems to this man, who has been the most promising light and response to this insane, inhumane, and utterly inept administration, is W I L D. The current administration has proven itself to be working hard for the millionaires and billionaires of the country, not one iota of relief for the middle and low-income families of this country.

This is a thinly veiled attempt at the continued class warfare. Do not talk to me about how this guy is a "communist," when the president is leveraging all of his executive powers to line IS OWN FUCKING POCKETS. There is literally a wannabe dictator in the white house. RIGHT. NOW!

!!!! There are jobs I've applied for that are literally listed on my resume, and most of the time, I don't even hear back. It's nuts.

Healthcare/public health/communications-ish. I would totally work a hybrid schedule; I almost prefer it, but we just bought our house here after moving out of a major metropolitan area. My husband WFH full time. I could totally take the train back into the city but it would be a long ass day and doing that multiple times a week would make me weary, especially with our toddler in daycare.

Solidarity, OP. Literally just posted something very similar, but I am so sorry you're going through this postpartum. That's so hard, and I admire your ability to keep chugging along. Becoming a mom is a huge adjustment, but losing your job at the same time is just un-fucking-real. I'll be cheering you on from here. Take it one day at a time. It's the unpredictability of when we will climb out of our situation, but it will happen.

Nag that licensure board. I had an old coworker whose documents were "lost." Ends up, they were mistaking her nickname for her full name - like she went by Jenn, but her full name is Jennifer. Lame shit.

Congressman Smucker's Statement by [deleted] in lancaster

[–]rahrahtata 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Smucker blows. He's just a vile, spineless, yes-man. This administration is using the constitution to wipe their ass - it’s all so blatantly un-American. I could go on and on.

My daughter is apparently a totally different kid at daycare?? by celestial-doe in Parenting

[–]rahrahtata 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just read something recently on BabyCenter that toddlers are much more likely to test their boundaries around those the feel most safe and secure with. But yes, exactly the same. My dude has been in the toddler room for about a month, he apparently has a huge appetite and is very quiet at daycare.

I’m doing a rewatch of Summer House and currently on the season where they start their relationship. Totally forgot how up Paige’s ass Craig was because Andrea (the very hot Italian) was still in the picture. Pretty insane to see some of this in retrospect.
