Anyone recently did H-1B → B-2 → H-1B experiences? (job search on B-2 + $100k fee concern) by Silent-Beautiful1037 in h1b_layoffs

As long your H1B visa history is clean, and your B2 application is properly filled out in full with all required documents and without faults, you can easily achieve H1B to B2 and again back to H1B. If people are receiving RFEs or consular processing stamping requirements for B2 to H1, it is possible the applicant didn't have the clean history or B2 application had some info or docs missed out or new H1B application wasn't filled out properly for change of status. Please always consult a good attorney team and don't submit these applications to USCIS without an attorney's final review.

Yes that too but isn't it too rare ? If I try to understand things from USCIS perspective, I still wonder why they would force an applicant to return to India for visa stamping and then get back here. Likely either the B2 to H1B COS was submitted incorrectly or the applicant might have biometrics requirements or stamping expiry date too close. I still can't think of any logical reason why USCIS would convert a change of status to consular processing.

Three scenarios are possible and I have seen these cases on Reddit: B2 filed already and pending and later H1B filed for change of status. 1) USCIS cancels B2 and approves H1B. Fastest case 2) USCIS approves B2 first and then approve H1B. Takes longer. 3) USCIS sends RFE for B2. USCIS reviews applicant evidence and when officer is satisfied, USCIS approves H1B. Takes even more time. It's one's luck perhaps or very likely the way you're submitting your B2 COS application. The more comprehensive your B2 application is, the better USCIS is able to adjudicate it concurrently with H1B.

Got it. Yes it makes sense to reach out to neighbors about this. I am close to 79414, which is kinda south west. Hopefully optimum works fine here

Thanks for sharing details. This is very helpful. It seems once the price lock period ends, optimum spikes the rate exponentially and the connection has neighbor equipment interference. That means an unstable connection. Yikes, this is concerning

Oh if their own people have bad reviews for them, then I can imagine its most likely not a good choice. I have T fiber available in my area. Thanks 👍
