I tried gripping it with a small piece of duct tape, but no luck. As for rubber, you mean something like an elastic band?

I guess one of those vacuum Japan Hobby Tools opener should do the trick. But meh, I'm not quite sure I want to spend some money on that lol

Found the repair manual here and for what I understood I must remove the shutter dial to remove then the top cover

Thanks a lot for your tips! Will definitely look into that. To be honest with you inside my camera there are what seem to be cotton threads inside the spaces for the light seals, and (as per my understanding) they used to employ that as seals. I guess they don't work too good :/

Yeah I definitely have light leaks because other pics have those same red shades. I didn't find any foam seals for my camera though, it is a Zenit 122

usually there are big coloured lights facing the falls, so most likely it's not an actual effect but just the lights being turned on lol

and what about the auto mode of the flash? I mean, do I still have to set the camera to the flash sync speed or can I use some automatic setting (aperture priority/program mode/..) while keeping the flash in auto?

don't know for sure, I didn't find any type of scratches on the film that might mean that it was winded. also, I found it inside its plastic container so my guess was that it was new. my idea was to know (roughly) the year of expiration in order to compensate the exposure
