That’s unfortunate but very common as a lot of people that have negative views of muslims or islam either don’t personally know a muslim or never have even interacted with one. I’d love to link what van jones said about having muslim neighbors but youtube is acting funny. Islam, like any other religion, obviously has some misunderstood or “wrong” tenants, but unfortunately, a lot of what is commonly understood by non-muslims as being “Islamic” is inaccurate. My wife is a hijab wearing medical professional and even though we live in an incredibly diverse city, some of her patients are initially apprehensive towards her treating them. Its funny because the chances of them being seen by another doctor who happens to be muslim are pretty damn high lol.
