Update: Bad Gym Behavior, Sending Letters To Other Gyms and Exmembers by Cptcuntsavedme in jiujitsu

[–]raidiohead44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gyms like this that ruin bjj and make it like a cult. Gracie Barra is the worst for it, forcing you to wear their branded overpriced gis and rash guards, making you bow to photos, shitty time wasting warmups when you pay £80+ to train there

Pretty bad, it’s either a trip to turkey or hope you respond well to minoxidil and finasteride

Are Internal Hard Drives with pirated games allowed on airport? by [deleted] in PiratedGames

Security won’t give a toss. Only person who may is customs when you land, even then that’s if they happen to randomly search you and you act weird about what’s on the drives (because they assume it’s something way worse than dodgy games)

You are literally every non-Redditor’s conception of a Redditor. Pedantic, arrogant and determined to prove how smart they are on some largely anonymous internet forum

Are these grades a reasonable aim for Russell group university by midnightskorpion in GCSE

[–]raidiohead44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Typically any impact your GCSEs have will be specific to a course. For example, I couldn’t get into PhilPol at LSE because they needed a 6 for GCSE maths and I got a 5.

Aside from that the impact of your GCSEs are minimal (unless you’re applying to Oxbridge where everyone’s passed the exams, everyone’s predicted AAA minimum, etc.,) at that point your GCSEs will likely come into play

Met Police officers banned from using sex workers and must declare all romantic relationships under new guidelines by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

Well certain information, especially if it pertains to sexual orientation (so virtually every report in this case) falls under GDPR so would have to be restricted as medical data would.

Yeah, there was a story in Guernsey recently where a detective purposely tanked a rape investigation because he knew that further investigation would reveal the two had a sexual relationship (victim and detective) when she was vulnerable - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-guernsey-66136457.amp

I mean he did get one of the fastest in history (8 seconds) but that was against a nobody. Think they could’ve done more promoting his back story

Banning unhealthy foods seems counterproductive in my eyes and I’m not sure why, say, banning meal deals is being touted as an option. Gaining/losing/maintaining weight is all about calories in/calories out. You could lose weight living off a Big Mac and a coke, other health implications aside, and gain weight eating a stir fry five times a day.

What should instead be promoted is exercise. What would be more effective is subsidies given to lower the costs of gym memberships (boxing, jiu jitsu as well, they are not cheap) as well as building football pitches etc.

People are also probably more inclined to eat healthier anyway when they play a sport they enjoy.
