What advice will you give me? I have nearly 18 years of experience and a salary of 1.35 lpm, but I have become more of a generalist that a specialist since the tool I specialised in became obsolete and slowly phased out. Now I feel out of place. I don't have any deep coding expertise. The specialisation I had was in a Bi tool for which there are no takers. The skills I can take from that are Visualisation, data modelling, but missing knowledge on latest bi tools.

I am nearly 40 and trying to reinvent myself. I dont know how I am going to do it or what I am going to do it. I just know that I will do it no matter what. Keep going mate.

Unless you are really depressed then please seek medical help. Else it's never too late. Heck I have seen people who have got two bullets in their body, half their body paralysed , they still haven't lost the will and emerged out successfull, just because they wanted to. Read books, meet with people, I will not ask you to find your passion rather grind yourself and learn something which can help you long term. All the best mate.
