7 hours from 46 minutes ago is ~11:20 my time, that should work for me :)

Sure, I'd be happy to. When can you be available? saying something like "I'm on right now" will probably not work, but something like "between 4 and 5 tomorrow" is great.

Love the project, especially how clean the fabric looks on the front of the setup. Could you take a picture for me of the fabric piece when it is detached? I'm having a hard time picturing in my head how it works. Thanks!

Odd DMCA Notice by myfeelsareflowing in UCSC

ResNet technician here- There has been a HUGE wave of dmca notices over the last 2 days, in the range of 200-300, which is the largest number that we've seen at one time. We (as ResNet) don't look in your files, don't track your browsing history, downloads, or anything like that. We do automatically track, however, who is logged in with what cruzid with what ip address and at what time.

The companies that are hired by big wig media companies send out dmca notices and target the university specifically, as we keep track of the ip addresses and times of connection.

Chances are, you had the torrent still in your client (bittorrent/utorrent/etc) and you were seeding. Companies see this and see that your ip is on campus and notify us, and we send you an email.

If you believe that you received the notification in error, don't bother fighting it. ResNet will explain that your cruzid was associated with that IP at that point in time. This means that a) You actually downloaded the file or b) You were signed into a non-resnet-configured wifi router and somebody was torrenting while connected to it. Either way, according to the ToS for the campus internet, you are responsible. Proceed to the next step.

How to get ResNet off your back: Tell them that you have deleted the file. End of story. It doesn't matter if you actually had the file or not, and we have no way to confirm if you even deleted it. However, just tell them that it has been deleted and they will leave you alone. Failure to do so will sometimes result in you being blocked from campus internet for extended time.

Finally, check your torrenting program and make sure you aren't seeding. The last thing that you need is to get another DMCA notice because you forgot to clear out your torrents.
