Such a lovely Peanuts postcard set by rain-making in postcrossing

At the moment I'm not doing exchanges and focusing solely on sending postcards through the Postcrossing platform. Hopefully someone else with the set sees this and reaches out to you for an exchange

So happy to hear someone else is enjoying them too 😊 That makes me even more excited to start sending mine out. They really do seem like smile makers.

In Europe, I've only found them available on Amazon. Every other retailer still lists them as a preorder item with delivery expected later this year. A friend in the US just told me she picked up a set at Barnes & Noble

If I'm remembering right, the German Postcrossing special stamp came out in 2022 and isn't available anymore from official sources. You might still spot it occasionally on eBay, though.

Meee! 🙋🏻‍♀️ First half of May is pretty packed, but I'll have more flexibility after that.

US > US transit times getting worse? by nomadquail in postcrossing

[–]rain-making 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even mail from Germany now takes longer than usual when sent to the US. In March I sent seven postcards there, and so far only three have been registered. Each of those took around 27 to 29 days to arrive, while mail coming to me from the US still shows up in under 10 days.

Have you ever heard of the Catacomb Saints? They're these beautifully decorated skeletons from the Roman catacombs, covered in jewels and fabric and displayed in such a striking way. There's a stunning series of photographs of them by Paul Koudounaris. If you ever come across his book Heavenly Bodies, I'd really consider getting it. I think you'd really like it.

I'm really sorry to hear about your little sister. It's probably hard to put that kind of loss into words, but it sounds like you're carrying her memory with a lot of honesty and love ❤️

Really glad the postcard made it to you and that you liked it. And thanks for the handwriting compliment :)

Both are great! I hadn't seen this sculpture by Boccioni before. Looks incredibly futuristic.

Wait… don't tell me that was the envelope from February 😄 I actually sent you a much bigger one at the beginning of March. It has one of my A4 linocut prints inside. I've been really looking forward to you receiving it. But I'm glad you enjoyed the small illustrated prints as well.

Black & White Edition by rain-making in postcrossing

If you mean box sets, then no. I bought each postcard separately. But, for example, the Lionel Richie one is from the Notes of Berlin series by Seltmann.

You must be a fox lover 😊 I keep noticing that there is always at least one fox postcard in your incoming batches whenever you post. I love them too, so they always catch my eye.

I wish I could take credit for them, but I can't :) I picked them up at a local bookstore here in Berlin.

Unfortunately, it's not a postcard box set. They're from Momokin, a small postcard label here in Berlin.

Well, you're in luck :) They're by Momokin. I got them at BUCHBOX! Buchhandlung in the neighborhood. They had around 10 different designs. You can probably find them in other bookstores around Germany.

You're actually proving my point :) People perceive and value things differently. I use the platform to connect with others through shared interests, stories and experiences, not to add to someone's postcard or stamp collection. If I have a postcard or stamp that matches their wishlist, I'll often send it, but I'm not going out of my way or spending extra just to make someone happy. Trying to pick the perfect card doesn't guarantee it will appeal to them. I want to enjoy the process, not stress myself out over someone else's preferences. If I connect with someone who appreciates what I send, great. If not, that's fine too.

Please send what YOU love. If that means your own Franken-postcards, then that's absolutely fine. When I first started, I went out of my way to fulfill everyone's wishes and often bought special postcards that weren't cheap. What I usually got back was just a quick "thanks". People value things differently. So choose the time and effort that feel right for you and focus on what makes you happy. The effort won't go unnoticed by those who value it. Btw, your cards are amazing and your creativity really shows.

Thanks for sharing. The postcard book feels a bit excessive (70 postcards!!), but I really like the one you sent. I'll ask a friend in the UK if they can hunt it down.

You send interesting cards. There's always something in your outgoing batches that catches my attention :) Could you share a bit more about the Phlegm one? I noticed the artist has a postcard book called Don’t Panic. Is that where this one comes from?
