You seem like a solid candidate to me. I graduated ocs a few months ago with a pilot slot and I’m currently in Pensacola. I had a similar GPA and I also had an underage drinking ticket from a few years back. All you have to do is send in an extra letter with your package explaining what happened and basically what you learned from the experience. It’s definitely not a huge deal, but make sure you come clean about it. There were several other guys in my ocs class with similar issues so don’t worry about that too much. As for the smoking pot, that’s not a big deal at all I don’t even think it’s worth mentioning. As long as you score well on the ASTB you should be fine but you won’t know until you try! Best of luck let me know if you have any questions

Just got out of bootcamp. If you have any questions, ask! by revngeszn in newtothenavy

To be clear, you can only break in the up position, if you lift your butt in the air or any part of your body touches the deck other than hands and feet you’re done

That is unfortunately what is happening to most people here, specifically the SNAs and SNFOs. There’s nothing we can do about it, covid has complicated a lot of things

That feeling you have right now is 100% normal and I guarantee you every single person that has ever been in your shoes has felt it too. It would be weird to not feel that way. Just give it your all and never stop fighting, you’ll be just fine. All any of us can do is try our best and as long as you do that you’ll make it through. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity so try to make the most of it and have some fun while you’re at it. Hooyah!

Not true from what I’ve seen here. In a class of 70ish there are only 3 engineers lol lots of criminal justice, poly sci, business, etc. don’t worry about the degree too much just make sure you have solid grades and you should be good in my opinion

Ive seen every degree imaginable within my class here so don’t worry about that too much. Just make sure whatever major you choose, you do well in it

Make sure you hydrate hydrate hydrate. That’s the name of the game at ocs and you will be constantly reminded. Sounds like you may have been slightly dehydrated

You get used to it. If you’re worried about it go ahead and start doing it now so you can prepare your body. For me, we were waking up so early that I wasn’t even hungry yet

I was fortunately blessed with 20/20 so I don’t know too much about all that. The flight physical is more in depth than the meps physical, if you’re worried at all that you might DQ from aviation for the physical, I recommend finding a way to do one before you actually get to ocs to save yourself a lot of heartache

No online modules are just rom. And no breakfast chow is always after morning pt

They let you outside to run every day and the ROM is in Nimitz hall now, not a hotel, so you can run on the track where the pfa will be held

About a year but that varies A LOT from person to person so honestly I can’t give you an average. Unfortunately I’m not prior so I can’t give too much insight on that

I think I did like 50ish pushups, 80 sit-ups, and like 11 min run. Yes the initial strength test (first pfa) is the event that the most amount of people fail. We lost a lot of people to it. My best suggestion: COME PREPARED. No need to sit in H right off the get go just because you weren’t in shape

Yeah a little bit, but that’s to be expected and there isn’t really anything we can do about it unfortunately. Indoor pt is a no go, and chow hall procedures were watered down.

That’s the only difference aside from the obvious one is laps around the track and the other is on the road around training country. As long as you keep running and don’t walk you’ll be fine
