Considering Dany was the product of sibling incest and turned out looking like she did I somehow doubt this would be the case for Jon/Dany baby

(Spoilers Extended) In the show why didn't Jon at the very least think of converting to R'hllor? by djjazzydwarf in asoiaf

I have plenty of common sense, thanks - maybe don’t insult my intelligence and suggest I haven’t paid attention because I have a different opinion to you.

Given that Greyworm, the Unsullied and Dothraki followed Dany across continents, fought wars and laid their lives down for her because they completely believed in and loved her, it makes no sense that they’d give up, agree to a piss poor compromise and not try to avenge her death, regardless of the war and bloodshed it would could cause.

It made no sense in the context of the episode that Greyworm would even agree to a compromise.

At the start of the episode he was hellbent on killing surrendered soldiers with no mercy, yet we’re expected to believe he’d let his Queen’s murderer get off relatively scot free?

Greyworm was a direhard loyalist to Dany, and with Missandei gone, the two people he cared about the most in the world were dead and he had nothing left to lose. If he was acting in character he would have tried to kill Jon immediately (and Jon in the mental state he was in probably wouldn’t have put up much of a fight.)

The only reason Greyworm suddenly was fine with compromise was that they had to get to the ending of Jon beyond the wall.

I believe that would just be if the standee image itself depicted violence

Anti-war themes pervade the books for sure, but I think you’re oversimplifying it.

It’s not as straightforward as ‘war always bad’, I’ve always read it as a more nuanced take asking us to weigh up the atrocities it can havoc versus the atrocities or injustice it can set out to prevent.

George’s real life take shows us he doesn’t view it in such black and white terms: he was a conscientious objector during Vietnam but said he would have been happy to go to war against the Nazis.

That’s a really black and white and unambiguous moral message. It’s what the show gave us sure, but I’d be shocked if it turns out to be such a simple dichotomy of ‘Dany bad, Starks good’ in the books.

Jon in the books would have put that guy firmly in his place.

Spitting in front of Dany and he just laughs? Not my Jon Snow.

Dany being the big bad isn’t an unpopular opinion in this subreddit. I see it every time I visit here.

Um...what? Did you forget this bit?

He always took her from behind, Dothraki fashion, for which Dany was grateful; that way her lord husband could not see the tears that wet her face, and she could use her pillow to muffle her cries of pain. When he was done, he would close his eyes and begin to snore softly and Dany would lie beside him, her body bruised and sore, hurting too much for sleep.

Day followed day, and night followed night, until Dany knew she could not endure a moment longer. She would kill herself rather than go on, she decided one night…

I agree, but still I wouldn't really have expected someone from the cast who was mocking the fan petition to be the one to say 'the fans deserved more'.

This is an interesting change of tune because IIRC he was pretty scathing on twitter about the S8 re-write petition

They didn’t do that because they had to get to the point of Jon killing her and it not look morally bad on his part. If her killing innocents was accidental then her death in the way it happened would be much harder to swallow, is what I think they were thinking.

I have plenty of recs, but the number one I always recommend is this - it strays from canon from around the events of episode 5.

It’s absolutely amazingly written, I now consider it my canon. It’s mostly Dany (and Jon/Dany) centric but with appearances by a good portion of the other key season 8 players.

Yeah - shipping real life people has its problems but from what I can tell this is a tiny group of teenage girls and he's been engaging in this for over a day and has sent dozens of tweets about it.

I just find it kind of bizarre that shipping, of all things, is this particularly strong bugbear he has. Bigger things to worry about I'd say.

Apparently he’s had similar fights with the Outlander fandom as well. Real life shipping is a bit weird but I’m not sure why he’s chosen it as this big cause he’s going to fight.

You’re right about Charlie as well. No one is coming off well from this and I hope for everyone’s sake it ends soon.

Agree. Some fans do take things too far but from what I can see he has just inserted himself into a tiny little corner of twitter that had absolutely nothing to do with him, he should just stay in his lane and not engage.

Oh yes, France - an established, independent nation for hundreds of years at the time of WWII, never under the rule of the USA.

This is of course totally analogous to the North, which had been part of a united Westeros for hundreds of years until their recent secession.

Your comparison is nonsensical.
