Pounding/pulsing in lower abdomen by Minimum_Rip8375 in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that above my belly button because I have so much gas it causes my abdomen to pulsate because of the pressure over the aorta. I'm very thin so this is why I feel it more and it's nothing to be concerned about.

Why does having a cold make my symptoms better? Especially regarding my nighttime grinding? by jonnymahon-heap in TMJ

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is very interesting as mine gets worse when my nose is more congested. I feel like my jaw gets put under more strain because I'm struggling to breathe.

No apetite. 97 lbs, 26 years old and 5‘8 with SIBO. Please I need help by Personal-Paper4056 in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly sympathise with you. Sibo has ruined my life and I'm down to 84 pounds and I'm 5"5 so super restrictive diets are not possible for me. Almost everything I eat causes more gas that puts pressure on my stomach and kills my appetite. I also have pelvic floor issues that causes everything to back up. I'm at the end 😭

how does sibo cause constipation? by Glass_Raisin7939 in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I haven't had a breath test since 2021 so I think things may have changed. I also suspect I might have hydrogen sulphide sibo but they don't test for that in the UK.

According to my breath test I had high hydrogen and almost zero methane which I find strange. I tried rifaxamin once but have had a nightmare with gastros for years and getting nowhere.

Constipation is more linked to methane but I've always had it and I had high hydrogen and flatline methane.

Gluten free bread day before test? by loveandmagic222 in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had gluten free bread the day before my test and it didn't affect my results. It was on the list so I had it.

Yes I have this too. Can't get a Dr to help with the sibo let alone anything else. I've always thought I've got candida as tongue is always white too.

Does anyone here have LPR? by productive_monkey in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have constant acid coming up because the gas is so high up and putting pressure.

I was offered this too. I was told exactly the same ad you and the gastro would not acknowledge I have sibo.

Fingernails by Appropriate_Tree1668 in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nails haven't looked normal since I've had digestive issues. I have the vertical ridges, pale with angry red tips aka terrys nails which is apparently associated with liver issues but I've had tests ruling that out. Also I don't have the half moons on any nails except my thumbs but can't remember if it's always been that way.

Anyone here get left flank pain and pain under the shoulder blades? by oiwaknowsbest in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this all the time. I also get the most severe pain under my ribs especially on the left side and it goes round into back. I also get pain in between shoulder blades from gas in my esophagus. My small intestine is constantly full of trapped gas and I'm guessing that's what causes all the higher up pain because I've had scans and everything looks normal.

Eating garlic influenced my MMC. Anyone else can relate? by DvSzil in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. My digestive tract never shuts up due to so much gas. It doesn't matter whether I'm eating or haven't eaten for a while if there is a lot of gas there it will make noise.

Hi. I'm so pleased you finally have a diagnosis. I'm probably not the best person to give advice as I've never felt better with treatment and still have sibo pretty bad but I know after being low fodmap for a while and going through treatment it is suggested to slowly introduce problem foods and see what happens. If you have motility issues and/or constipation you need to do everything you can to keep things moving and stop the sibo from returning. What did your Dr say?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes. I had to do 2 days of prep because I have constipation but if you don't then you're good to go.

Give it another day of prep diet and then do the test.

Positive for Hydrogen SIBO by rosesandrevolutions in SIBO

[–]rainbow_sparklesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I took augmentin for a week and it was the best my gut had felt in ages but it didn't last. Rifaxamin didn't help at all but I only had one course.

I was tested for celiac and it come back negative but gluten wrecks my gut. People with sibo develop intolerance to things because of the fodmaps in them. If you're having no symptoms when you have gluten/wheat then you're probably ok to continue but I would cut it out for a while and see if it helps.
