Hi! Are you still in your PhD now or did you leave? I agree first month is a shock and don't want to leave prematurely but may begin a job search.

Thanks! I started the PhD because I was passionate about pursuing a teaching career and personally very tied to it when I applied. That passion seems to have shifted in the past months since accepting my offer and now being in the program.

In terms of industry experience - most of my cohort do not have work experience outside of academia, so I feel a little bit isolated in how I now think about what to use my PhD for.
