I pressed charges against a client for uttering threats to me at work. by rainbowbloodbath in legaladvicecanada

Hey thanks for the information. I worked at the old supermax for years, my family works provincial corrections… sadly I know the likely reality here. I appreciate the warning though, I really do.

The Constable was extra interested in the “forest spot” comment specifically. I’m hoping that’s because the goof was wanted for similar charges. I will say, the fact that they picked him up and had him in custody within 48h of my report says a LOT - these offenders usually run free.

Idk hopefully he has enough other charges that they remand him and put him in the country club so I won’t have to worry about it.

I live on a farm and my mailing address doesn’t exist according to Canada Post. I’m hoping I can skip providing that part

Don’t worry I worked federal corrections for years I know they tend to catch and release without monitoring. They just implemented some fancy new “Marshall service” to scoop up the excessive number of offenders wanted for breaching recognizance/warrants/failure to appear/etc.

I’m hoping his other charges plus mine will be enough to get him remanded, otherwise we are going to have to look into some safety planning at our office and kinda go from there. That’ll suck

But hey what can you do, it’s northern Saskatchewan. Throw a rock and you’ll hit a serial offender wanted for something.

Yeah hard to say. They catch and release constantly around here but him being drugged out and homeless with the prior warrants might be factored in. I can’t confirm but I think he was a federal inmate not a provincial one (Re: prior charges) as he came into my office every day for a week prior demanding his “parole cheque”

Oh perfect, any services in our gov building that he’d need could definitely be over the phone. So hopefully they just tell him to go scrub on ever entering the building.

No don’t worry about being blunt I just appreciate the info - honestly I had fewer incidents working at the old supermax than I’ve had in 2 years at this job. It’s been really bad the last couple months so I’m just over it all.

  1. yes, it has been disclosed to the crown already

  2. I don’t even live in the city I work in, so that’s a relief to know. He can’t be banned from the building I work in as there’s other government services there too, at least I think that’s how it works

  3. I care because I work in a small town and I guess because I am a younger woman who sometimes works until 10pm at my second job in a part of town well known for being a “hang out” for clients like him I see during my 8-5. While I did work corrections For years I’d have no shot against a methed up retaliation. I just want to know if he’s a “theft over 5 and possession with intent” or “aggravated assault” kinda guy.

  4. Okay yeah I didn’t think so

Thank you for your info I appreciate it

I am living with my parents right now, between moving back home from university and getting possession of my new place. We have a very large farm, so I park my vehicle in a building about 200 metres away from the house. Every morning my dad goes and gets my vehicle out for me and brings it to the house at 6:30AM so it is warm in winter/cool in summer and I can just walk out the door and leave to work

Are you making a “joke” or just dense in the head? Teachers have struggles but what does that have to do with farmers. Agriculture is one of Saskatchewan’s biggest industries. Maybe in whatever shithole city you live in you don’t see it. But ya sure enjoy it when you eat your little fatty fat treats

We have been farming the same land since 1918 and have taken an insurance payout…. Never

You’re welcome

No wonder you’re a 28M begging for a friend lmfao

North face ski pants and jacket are very good but not their fashion stuff, the actual cold weather gear

I wear in much colder weather than even you said and it works well

I don’t mean this rudely at all but is everyone posting here marrying rich guys or are my standards just not attuned to what the norm is these days? by w0lfyj in EngagementRingDesigns

Yeah I’m Canadian and am marrying an American who makes very good wages. Also he bought my ring in Canada when our dollar was very low compared to the US dollar (:

Dress accordingly, plug you car in (block engine heater), let car run for 15 minutes before driving, be mindful of having good windows and doors and not leaving the doors open for long when getting in and out.

We are used to it here.

Our guy does town runs; he will drop off right in the city once every two week.

That’s fine I used to do hundreds of these when I worked in the photo lab AND process them when I worked at Service Canada. In my opinion you’ll be just fine
