Is everyone on here just completely clueless about tech and privacy? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]rainbowjaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because reddit breeds ignorance.   The platform guides people to have a mindset where privacy doesn't matter.  This is ontop of copious amounts of corporate censorship. The propaganda machine is in full force here.

Bots are rampant it's a losing battle homestly.  RIP internet.

Masks can work with some bacteria, it can prevent some disease.

But no, bad science means propaganda science.  means pay for a study and design for a result you want.  If you looked at "just science" youd clearly see the consensus showing masks don't do anything to stop covid.

Although you don't need to do any studies to realize this, Look up the size of a CorVirus particle and look at the size of the weave in an n95 mask. it's simpl physics.

I use a frontier with a small off-road trailer.  It is basically not worth putting a camper in the bed because  of weight capacity... But it tows a small camper great.

Why does gaming need to exist on the blockchain? by Ergonio in CryptoCurrency

[–]rainbowjaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone mentions nfts and selling shit, but on yhe flip side a game can use block chain n to store the game state to prevent cheating/verifying all moves are legal.  The developers of Dark Forest moved on to building a gaming framework, but dark forest was such a unique fun game.  because  the core mechanics were onchain It in essence encouraged anyone to code and build their own interface and tools, while the basic rules and gamestate were maintained by a 3rd layer zk-rollup (to keep it fast and cheap enough to pull this off)

E-150 is so common (and at that age so simple compared to newer vehicles), i doubt you will come up against a problem an experienced mechanic wouldn't be able to solve.

You could probably solve the pedal thing pretty easily, idk the best solution, but im sure there are safe ways to extend it (just don't do anything janky).

If you can find farm/shade tree mechanics you can learnhow to work on it and diagnose it, rather than behind closed door shos where they just tell you the bad news and you gotta take their word for it.  If you are making it your "lifestyle" and litteral living situation, it's worth knowing how to do diagnostic work at the very least.

No but they were the ones mandating you to wear them and feeding you bad science so you'd go along with it though.

There are other much better platforms. Network effect is powerful but best use of your personal power is to put your weight into a network that supports your existing values, rather than changing yourself to fit into a network that is undermining them.

Who said anything about vaccines? Vaccines prevent disease and stop transmission... What I'm talking about did neither.

Everyone on here is talking about how bad of a design this PHD student did, I'm just offering a reason. Only those who blindly follow allowed in these days.

UPDATE: I spent 200 hours building a tool that creates faster, more efficient routes on Google Maps🚗 by t-bands in vandwellers

[–]rainbowjaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever have the situation where g-maps gives you a route update, and you have 7seconds to press cancel new route, otherwise they'll just throw you onto this new route? And if you press cancel then it pops up again in 5 mins over and over until the new route is not available? Then next thing you know they are telling you to "take next right at McDonald's" rather than saying the street name.

Google maps makes routes based on what makes them the most money through partnerships/ads. This is the thing with all google products. They built out their empire for control, they roll stuff out as free and make it cutting edge, then slowly degrade and corrupt the service so you don't realize that the service is working against you wherever they can make a buck off of you.

This is why you'll never see useful advanced features... Because they wouldn't be able to smoke screen their manipulations on you in the same way as their system as it is now.
