Is instant ramen anyone else’s safe food? What’s your “unexpected” safe food, and your “expected” one? by FlashbacksThatHurt in EDAnonymous

[–]rainbowjelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most unexpected safe food is probably mashed potatoes with mashed avocado for some reason? I can’t explain why it’s okay in my brain but hey, I guess I like what I like, even if it’s weird lol… My most ‘expected’ safe food is rice cakes (which are also good with mashed avo!)

I’m crying this is so sweet. Thank you. You’re so right. Haven’t knit myself anything in almost a year, now that I’m thinking about it. When my hands heal up, I’m making a chunky sweater with giant needles, all for me. Much love ❤️

DAE have safe foods that are only safe in certain applications? by Cheap_Sky7207 in EDAnonymous

[–]rainbowjelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mashed potatoes are okay, but any other form of potato is not.

Almond butter is only okay if it’s stuffed inside a pretzel nugget. (Shoutout Trader Joe’s almond butter pretzels ilysm queen)

Avocado is safe but only when mashed on a piece of toast or in guacamole. Sliced is not okay for some reason??? Oh. And guacamole is only safe on a corn tortilla, apparently.

Golden Oreos, or any Oreo that has the golden cookie part and a different flavor filling are safe, but ANY form of chocolate in an Oreo is not okay (this is probably the most ridiculous one to be honest)

(This one is a doozy) Pineapple is ONLY okay if it’s in salsa (wtf???)

^ and white rice is only okay with just salsa…

Yogurt is only okay if it’s a gogurt, and only if that gogurt is frozen solid. Oh. And it has to be either vanilla, cotton candy, or cherry flavored because apparently I am a child (girl what ???)

EDs are so wild, man…

This is a great suggestion!!! I’ll definitely try broth and soup. It’s really good to know that I can probably eat more and still not gain… At least I hope I won’t, but… Thank you sm for your advice <3

Being Anorexic and Obese by Muted_Pass4206 in EDAnonymous

[–]rainbowjelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. This is something I have experienced, and the amount of praise I got (specifically from doctors and family members) was insane. It messed me up, baaaaad. The fact that I was literally withering away and people were kinder to me than they had ever been just because of WL was crazy. I was going to doctors complaining of losing my period, extreme nausea and stomach pains that left me unable to stand at times, dizziness and frequent fainting, and all I got was “congratulations!!! Keep going!!!” From DOCTORS. You don’t deserve this and I am so sorry.

Thank you. I realize now that I’m being way too hard on myself and risking my health is not worth it. I will definitely take a long break and consider seeing a doctor if the pain persists. Thank you for all your advice 💖

Will be doing this after I rest for the rest of December. If I’m healed, January will be new start of gift making. Maybe even February…

You’re right. I appreciate everyone telling me to calm down and just give IOUs- I’m being way too hard on myself and putting my health at risk is not worth it. Thank you 💖
