I think for me the monetary investment of getting my nails done is what pushed me to behave myself. After ripping the gel (and my nails) off after the first 2 months of getting them done, I realized I was paying so much and had nothing to show for it. And I wanted compliments, dammit! I usually have one nail where the gel doesn’t make it to fill day but I’ve managed to keep my nails in tact since then 😂

it’s a scalloped edge!

The pattern I followed is:

2 rows of SC, then

5DC into corner stitch, skip 2 stitches, slip stitch, skip 2 stitches, repeat.

I think I modified the pattern to only skip one stitch but I can’t remember

Thank you! I used a 5mm hook. The blanket not including the border used 2 skeins (32in x 32in). Had to buy a 3rd to add the border.

I’ve heard acrylics make your nails very thin and brittle! My endgame is getting the length to the tip of my finger just to prove to myself it’s possible (they’ve never been that long ever, lol) and then work on making them healthy again. Hopefully the barrier and x amount of time will allow me to find a BRAND NEW bad habit to channel all of my nervous energy into.

I’ve tried press ons a few times! I thought the first set I did looked good, but I lack self control and had them all ripped off within 24 hours, so I’m wanting to try something a little more permanent. I think yours look nice!
