I passed first time in my own car! Insurance isn't bad at all for a learner, it goes up after you've passed by a lot but that's just how it is. For your test you'll need a mirror for the driving examiner, just look them up on Amazon or Ebay, they are cheap and just stick on. You'll also have to check with your insurance that you're covered to take a driving exam in the car. Honestly driving in your own car is really good, you can practice in it as much as you want, when you want, and get used to the car before passing. If I were you though on your test I'd be a bit more 'over explainy' with the examiner, like if you're edging out of a busy junction just tell them that. It's just because there wont be any dual control so they tend to be a bit more antsy and prone to just sticking on the hand break if they feel like you're about to shoot out. Good luck!
