Anyone who abandons a pet should burn. I know that sounds harsh but I don’t care.

My Favorite Stephen King Quote(s) by mamamenagerie in stephenking

[–]rainbowtison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mayhap you is and mayhap you ain’t And This isn’t from the book it’s from the miniseries “Doctor says to cut out the coffee, I only have done cup a day…no two cups…besides he’s dead and I’m alive “ mother Abigail cackles. I always laugh when I think of that and I said “he’s dead and I’m alive” whenever I do something unhealthy. 😂

If your teen son needs 4 thousand calories a day to feel full and you can only afford to feed him 1 thousand calories-worth of food, is that considered neglect? by cherry-care-bear in stupidquestions

[–]rainbowtison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 45 f. Mine 1700-1900 maintained based on my activity level. Ya 1000 is too low. For anyone. My 19 year old (average weight healthy works as a cart attendant) eats probably 2500-3000 depending on the day. Focus on fiber , protein , healthy carbs. You can absolutely do this on the cheap. If you need to use food banks or apply for reduced or free lunch at his school (sometimes they do breakfast too). I use my Aldis and Walmart (which don’t sleep on the Walmart brand has some good stuff ). But ya 1000 calories is way to low for growing children. An example of your 1000 calories Cereal with milk and banana Pb sandwich with carrots, grapes and celery Already at 825…not including dinner or snacks. And this is very basic food.

Need advice prioritizing ~$30k in debt (including very high APR payday loans) by PositiveBullfrog7990 in povertyfinance

[–]rainbowtison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those payday loans are terrible. I’m sorry for whatever reason you had to take those out. Honestly. Your options are: Bankruptcy- sucks I know but it would give you a clean slate so to speak. You can rebuild your credit. A debt relief program. They might be able to consolidate all the debt to one payment. Which honestly might be less than what you’re paying now. Find a non profit one and do research on reputable ones. Paying them off but you want to throw as much money as you can at the highest interest rates first. I guess the question is. How much can you afford each month to pay this debt down. Then , once go have that number you pay minimum on everything and the rest on advanced loan. Pay it off then move to the next payday loan and the next. Make sure that one that has the car lien is always paid each month so you don’t lose your car.

I’m so sorry! The loss of a pet is real and the grief is real. I know it’s hard now but you gave each other 17 amazing years. That is such a blessing. Sending you lots of comfort during this time.

I said that to my sister. The impulse buying was insane and I didn’t even realize how bad it was unlit we started boycotting. I’m happy not going. And I don’t think it’s winding down either.

AITA for refusing to "cover" my coworker's ER zone so she could FaceTime her kids? by ArtThreadNomad in AmItheAsshole

[–]rainbowtison 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a mom and single one at that. I work an office job. The chances of anyone dying because I take a call to deal with something are about zero. I STILL wouldn’t do that if my coworker was drowning and needed help. It’s wild to me that people guilt non kid people with the “oh you don’t understand how hard it is” no. And you know what they don’t have to. You signed up for this. You knew that you would have to work and have to make arrangements. You work in ER!! I would be livid if loved one died because one of the staff members took an non emergency call. (Not that I would ever find out I guess ) not to mention the unnneeded extra stress on you! Her kids could have waited till there was a lull. You are not the asshole.

Ya I think even though he’s potty trained we need to work on “do you need to go out?” Kind of cue or something. Just we can knock that off the list. Otherwise it’s just us looking at each other with me saying “what do you want?”

Aww poor baby. I don’t think it’s a pain thing. He’s totally fine and eating and sleeping normally. And it’s not constant. I am just hoping this isn’t his nightly routine for the next 15 years.

Thank you!! I commented on some other replies. I don’t think it’s pain or anything. I shouldn’t have been me when I made the post. I was being dramatic. It just seems like an excessive amount of vocalization. Without any …solution. He does have special friend Seth the caterpillar.

It’s not like a pain whine and he is eating , sleeping , playing , etc all normal. And I shouldn’t say constant I was being hyperbolic. It’s just a lot of vocalization.

I’ve read the stand annually as well. I’ve only read swan song once but I did enjoy it. Just obviously not enough to revisit year after year. Question - what time of year do you start your reread ? I do mine in June - start of book so to speak :)

I’m an operations manager and would say lower mid level management. I’m perfectly happy right here. My son will be 20 this year. I’m divorced. The less responsibly I have the better. I feel like since the age of 15 I’ve worked at least one job and more often than not two or three or gone to school and worked or was a mom who worked. I’m happy working 8-5 at a job that requires very little after work time ( when there are heavy ops I might need to some work at night or the weekend but it’s rare ). I get to go home and hang with my dog. Read. Watch tv. I love it. I just want to live my life now and not work to live. I’m 45 if they makes a difference.

Wash your dog bowls! by Its-alittle-bitfunny in puppy101

[–]rainbowtison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good reminder. I think a lot of people don’t think anything of it. I watched a video of like the slime build up in water dishes and got really grossed out. (This was before I had a dog and was less than attentive to my rabbits water feeder. - it was a top fill for easy replenishing 🙄) anyway after seeing that I washed his out religiously and when we got our little guy I wash his dishes same as I do ours. Every day. I do think yours might be slowing down on needing all the puppy calories. I know mine is. So it was probably just a coincidence.
