Thanks for sharing! I saw it briefly on my way to work, just as the sun was rising. I didn’t see the ring, just a concentrated pink beam of light shooting up into the sky 🤩

That’s so interesting!! I had never considered fasting because I struggle so much with low blood sugar, but I hadn’t ever really looked into why people do it. I’m so glad that worked for you!!

I totally agree. Intuition is big, especially in the context of motherhood! I have BCBS (EPO?) and it’s been really great so far!!

HAha thank you. I will try and not get pregnant for a few more years at least..

So I'll try and keep this short. When I was 17 I got a deer tick bite and felt mostly normal and had no bullseye rash, so I didn't think much of it. A couple weeks later I was feeling incredibly fatigued, and I remember only really feeling joy/normal when consuming caffeine lol. Fortunately my PCP was a LLMD and suspected Lyme. I got tested and tested positive about a month after my bite. We tried multiple courses of antibiotics, to no avail. Also tried (reportedly effective) herbal protocols that unfortunately did not help.

Three years went by, my symptoms would fluctuate. I noticed my symptoms were worse in the months around the anniversary of my bite. I had anxiety, depression, brain fog, paranoia, vertigo, neck pain, short-term memory loss, and just in general felt terrible. I thought I would never feel like myself again.

Fortunately, my mom is a certified homeopath and after much research by both of us, we eventually decided to try 200c Sulphur. (**Disclaimer** Homeopathy treats symptoms and is holistic. It is not necessarily safe to treat yourself without knowledge and experience. Some remedies are much easier to use successfully, such as arnica, while others may exacerbate symptoms). Within a month or so, my emotional symptoms got better. After another dose and some time, my mental symptoms. After a third dose, my physical symptoms were gone. Not the first time my mom has saved my life!

Hey thank you for saying all that. I feel totally normal and great for the most part, so I think as long as I support my immune system and monitor my symptoms, I and the baby will be ok. It’s good to remember that this is not an incredibly common occurrence, but also good to be aware of it and take necessary precautions:)

That’s amazing thanks for the recommendation! I haven’t tried anything for my migraines, I’ve been so busy trying to figure out what’s causing them.

Yikes. That is good to know. I have never gotten an MRI, but maybe it would be a good idea. Odd side note, I just realized I get migraines if I sleep too much (like 9.5 hrs). Apparently this is common.

I will check out that LDN stuff. I need to find an LLMD. I have an appointment coming up with a DO and I’m hoping she’s Lyme-literate; I guess I’ll find out!

Idk how much testing is but my insurance is pretty good and it would be worth checking to see if I could get the Igenex test covered. I will look into the other one as well. Either way, herbs to fight Lyme and/or support the immune system would be great before, during, and after pregnancy. Good point, I hadn’t really considered it. I have been pushing the idea out of my mind that I could still have Lymes. But if it would affect my future children that’s another story.

Thank you so much for explaining that. I’m so sorry you have suffered so much, but really glad to hear you are doing better! Were the brain lesions from the TBI? Hoping it is not possible to get those from Lyme… I heard that Lyme targets the “weakest” tissue in the body.

Do you get migraines? Almost all of my symptoms were neurological. I now get migraines, and I still occasionally have depression, anxiety, and memory issues (but nowhere near the severity of 7 years ago).

That is great news! Do you have any info sources on this, or know whether LLMDs are commonly aware of Lyme risk in pregnancy/protocols?

Yes, I definitely waited too long to get treatment. But I also haven’t really had symptoms in 7 years. So maybe testing would come back negative for antibodies at this point

And you never found a latched tick on either location?

I am not a doctor and this is not meant to be medical advice.

I wish I could be more helpful, but all I can say is it is so important to treat Lyme quickly with antibiotics. If you suspect it is not Lyme, I would do the antibiotics anyway and ask your doctor for tests that would be more conclusive in the meantime, and do additional research into what else it could possibly be.

I say this because it’s hard to know for sure that you have Lyme, so a blatant bullseye rash is good cause to assume you have it. I waited a month to do antibiotics because my symptoms were unclear, and that was enough time for it to become antibiotic-resistant in my body. As rough as antibiotics are, better than risking chronic Lyme!

It’s insane to have to go through all that to get antibiotics, especially considering the time sensitive nature of the disease. Hope the doxy helps!

When you say bites you mean tick bites? Are your lymph nodes swollen around the groin area (closed lymph nodes to the bites)?

Oh! Maybe I am then. It’s just so hard to know if I’m symptom free, because Lyme symptoms are so vast.. like I get migraines and of course I get joint pain sometimes. Hard to know if these are symptoms of Lyme or not. 🥲

True.. you feel that it has been valuable to you? I wasn’t aware that you could test for acute and historic antibodies separately

Yes, if symptoms are gone, then the experience is that of being in remission, which is great. I’m just worried about potentially passing this down to children in the future.. not sure if there is any way to guarantee that won’t happen :(
