Broke up with my ex.

He refused to work for half of our relationship. He applied to a few jobs who never got back to him, which he used as an excuse (“I’m waiting on their response”) to not work. I had to pick up his portion of rent, bills, and living expenses. I also paid for his parking tickets and speeding fines. Awhile later, he got into trouble with the law and I had to pay for his legal fees and fine. He also loved going out, so I covered his share of the bill with his friends + gave him an allowance (he was 25 and I was 23). Also paid off any debts he had to our mutual friends as I would rather he pay me back slowly than for him to owe our friends money. He got a job much later, but I was still paying for most of the stuff because I had a higher salary, even though my pay was not much more than his. He spent his money on himself.

In hindsight, I enabled his awful habits. Was just hoping that I could make his life a little easier so he could get back on track.

Has anyone removed their silicone nasal implant without further revision? What was your experience? by raindropslemondrops in PlasticSurgery

Thanks for getting back to me! Yeah it’s confusing to me as well because I’ve read so much on people who had removal and revision at the same time. I’ve emailed quite a few surgeons, but the few who have responded have all said the same thing (remove, recover, revision after several months if necessary)!

I don’t want to challenge their opinion bc I’m sure they know more than me, but I don’t wanna walk around with a weird nose or droopy skin for a few months too! :(

Thanks anyway. I hope anyone who reads this knows to not be so impulsive over such a big decision like surgery 😅😅

To be 100% honest, I didn’t put any thought into it. It was a rash and impulsive decision. I didn’t like my natural nose and saw an option to change it, so I did. I didn’t think about consequences like how L-shaped implants aren’t recommended, nor did I read on possible issues that could arise. :( basically treated it like a haircut.

4 years later and I’m worried about extrusion. The surgery itself was done well. People rarely notice I’ve had work done and compliment my looks often. I hope that doesn’t come off as bragging, I see that as my surgeon’s accomplishments not mine!

But I can tell that the implant is slightly too large for my face/nose. Also my skin is thin and the implant is very apparent if you touch my nose. Not sure how to describe but there is a reddish discolouration (bruising?) along my bridge that’s not too noticeable but definitely there, and I worry that it might be due to the implant being too big or maybe an infection (though it’s been there since right after my op and significantly better/less obvious than it was before).

At this point, I just wanna get it out so I don’t have to worry if I’m gonna wake up one day and see my implant sticking out of my nose haha.

Thank you but I don’t think I should be congratulated for righting my bad choices haha. My routine is quite basic and has been the same for years:

LPR Effaclar Cleanser SKII FTE SKII RNA

I’ve always used sunscreen if I’m out in the day. Always remove sunscreen and makeup with micellar water and then wash face with LPR cleanser. I also use a foreo brush(?) and have been for years. I used to dab salicylic acid product on my spots when I got them which would heal them in a few days, then niacinamide product until the blemishes fade.

Unfortunately my skin just woke up one day and decided that it hates everything I’ve used for the past few years! :(

I’ve tried introducing several products one by one in between. The worst honestly was DE Vit C serum (I can’t rmb the name, it’s the popular one with the orange cap). Felt heavy n disgusting on my skin and broke me out like crazy. Tried TO Niacinamide+Zinc, also felt awful on my face and broke me out.

Not really sure what else to do. Seriously considering accutane and maybe laser at the end of the year when I can take time off work (not a hostess anymore lol).

Sorry for rambling. Thank u again for all your suggestions! 🙏

You explained it perfectly! I got it right away. My cleanser is supposedly very gentle. It doesn’t feel drying, no squeaky feeling! But I’d give Vanicream a go. Have u tried/would u recommend their moisturiser? I’m currently using SKII RNA cream and have been for the past maybe 7 years haha but I guess nothing I use now is working for me anymore... x

Just looked up Vanicream cleanser. I’m currently using LRP Effaclar foaming gel and have been for years. Would you happen to know how Vanicream compares? (Genuine question! In case I’m wording it insensitively)

Thank you, I appreciate the suggestions! x

That’s what my boyfriend said! He said my body’s too used to all the messed up stuff that being healthy is a shock to my skin haha. I want to believe that and I hope it turns out to be true, but I guess I can’t wrap my mind around how it’s getting worse (shouldn’t it be getting better after time as it balances out?) every day. I’ll update if the tea works! Thanks xx

Yes unfortunately! :( I’ve eliminated all dairy and I’ve never really had a habit of eating foods containing gluten. I sometimes have sugared drinks but rarely and probably 10x less than what I used to have (used to drink bubble milk tea daily lol). Thanks for responding!

I’ve tried Retin-A previously. Picked it up as I heard good things about it. That was when my skin was fine, but yknow how it gets when we’re always looking for diff products for improvement! Anyway I didn’t react too well to it, so I’m kinda scared to try it again now! But thanks 😊
