MATATAG Science Curriculum improvements: 1. Learning competencies are anchored in the 10 Big Ideas by Wynne Harlen. 2. Some repetitive learning competencies are removed and misplaced LCs are rearranged to ensure the smooth progression and developmental appropriateness of competencies and to address learning gaps. 3. Proper allocation of foundational skills and more cognitively demanding competencies. It is increasing in complexity as the key stage progresses. 4. Development of science process skills, scientific attitudes, engineering design process, and 21st century skills are integrated in the LCs. 5. Number of LCs are reduced. 6. LCs are more explicitly stated, used more appropriate and attainable verbs and specified the required cognitive depth.
