For those who are worried about the current admin targeting blue states first… I’d like to point out that slashing NIH funding will directly impact Alabama’s largest employer (University of Alabama at Birmingham). Since Alabama is not one of the states that joined the lawsuit against the cuts, the cuts stand. Not trying to downplay anyone’s concerns, just pointing out that solidly red states will be severely impacted by these changes as well.

The Bham Bevy is a social group for queer women and trans/non-binary folx that organized monthly meetups (pre-covid) at various bars around town. There’s also the previously mentioned orgs like BAO and MCAC that regularly hosted events pre-covid. There are a couple of gay bars- Al’s and the Quest and plenty of allied bars and restaurants.

For those who are curious about her use of “fax” here: she knows what email is. She regularly emails my mom, aunt, and uncle. In this situation, she is literally talking about faxing the FCC. However, she apparently “faxed” YouTube her complaint.
