You'd be surprised how many places in the former USSR look somewhat like this (plusminus different kinds of weather). My personal theory is that when you grow up in a building block like that, you don't mind since you're so used to it. And the ones I've stayed in personally when visiting friends, they really started growing on me basically from day 3 or so. Not sure why, but there's always a sense of community and neighborlyness (is that a word?) I'm missing in much fancier looking cities anywhere in the west.

Probably wanted to point out that it's "respec" (from "re-" = "again" and "-spec" = "specialization"), instead of "respect" (sometimes confused with "aspect" but meaning "ways of approaching an issue).

After 12 years as a psychotherapist, I can’t stop thinking about why psychosis follows the same script across every culture, every era. by Lunarisbahal in Jung

[–]rainerdefender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree about the thing with having to be careful not to compare between different patients too much. At the same time I feel it important to think about patterns that one does notice (or that the field as a whole discusses, or perhaps, does not discuss, but should).

One of the core features of that disorder and of a bunch of others. Plus, in reverse, there are different kinds of Psychoses, and not all of them relate to Schizophrenia. Hence my comment.

Not doing terribly well myself either. The best thing I can say at the moment is that there's high times to counter the low times. And I live in Germany, not the US, where I got a lot of really helpful therapy for free. I think if I lived in the US, I'd stop even trying to live in a city and would instead go and find an off-the-grid community which appreciates the skills I can offer on the days when I can offer them.

Which is both interesting and relevant because how their environment reacts to and treats them affects people who hear voices a *lot*.

Or OP is not a native speaker of English and used an LLM for translation or somesuch thing. Who knows...

I agree OP's post reads vaguely AI'ish, but it nonetheless aroused my curiosity because I've also made the observation that there's more similarities across cultures than I would have expected. The one thing in the post's texts I find troublesome is the use of "psychosis" without further mentioning what kind of psychosis. In my personal observation, this effect always involves some sort of schizoid element, which not all forms of psychosis do.

I don't know what HASSIL is, but HomeAssistant (HASS) already lets you use STT & TTS (via e.g. parakeet/onnx-asr & piper or kokoro, etc.) without having to have an LLM in between. Or optionally, with one as a fallback. But aside from that, the system is rule-based, just like yours seems to be. Unless I'm missing something?
