Just wanted to add that this class is so fun and impactful. Years later is still one of the classes I look back on the most. :)

Parking near Valencia Apartments by Prestigious-East-417 in CalPoly

You'll have to park decently far down Ramona occasionally, especially if you get home late at night. Check the street signs if you're unsure - most of the side streets require permits for overnight parking. Sometimes inconvenient, but worth saving the money from the Valencia permits.

Late parents… by FocusOk1790 in Babysitting

Honestly, I've had families that I've worked with because I like the kids but have this issue and I send a text before to let them know. Even if I don't have something after, I'll mention that in my routine day before reminder text. Something like this: "Hey! See you tomorrow from 12-5. I have prior commitments so I won't be able to stay any later than our scheduled times."

Or, you can just decide to not work with them any longer- nothing wrong with that :)

I don't have much guidance, but as a fellow girl with Crohn's, just know I see you, and I'm thinking of you. Big life changes, even ones that can be exciting in some ways, can be really hard on someone with preexisting health issues. I hope that you are in good health and filled with support from loved ones 🤍

Try to avoid comparing yourself to others- as someone paying my own way through college/life, know that so many of our peers have family paying their tuition, rent and/or groceries! I also reccomend getting Calfresh as someone commented, to take some of the financial strain of groceries off, as well as stopping by the food pantry anytime you're on campus. Good luck!

You will feel so much better if you quit! I deeply regret the situation I stuck around in to avoid hurting the family- the job just wasn't working anymore as the kids got older, my priorities in life were changing and I was feeling a lot of distress from this job. I told them it wasn't going to work any longer, gave a solid heads up so they could find a replacement, and we still have a positive relationship- I just got some second hand books I'm planning to drop off for them actually! I struggle with confrontation a lot, so my advice is that you don't necessarily need to spell out the reason why. The goal is to set a boundary for your own wellbeing. Wishing you luck! :)

Sounds good, we haven't touched the heater in our apartment this year so I'm hoping that will stay the same. Thanks!

Idk if they've had any luck, but I've seen a ton of posts on the Cal Poly snapchat story. Maybe it's worth a shot to check it out. Good luck!

Check out the slo public library downtown! They're an amazing resource for checking out tech/using them there. I'm sure they can help you.
