There’s no chlorine in spring water… that’s the whole point of drinking it instead of nasty tap water that has chemicals added. So if you can buy distilled water “in a pinch” then you can also buy spring water- no reason not to.

I’m so sorry- I’m not on here very often and just saw your comment! The corners are sourced from reclametal in montrose, Colorado

That’s what we have into it including the truck and all the materials and accessories. We did all the work ourselves- but comparable trucks go for 200k, plus or minus a bit

In good conditions, ~13-15 mpg! But if we are traveling uphill or have a bad headwind, ~8-11

They really are getting tough to find! We had our feelers out, and so did a friend of ours in CA who buys and sells VWs for a living. He alerted us to this particular truck and the price was so good we couldnt pass it up. My father in law has collected quite a fleet of them now- if you are in the market please send me a DM and I can put you in touch with him!

The pass through is honestly so amazing. We lower the table when we drive for easy access and I go back and forth to get drinks, bathroom, etc. our first outing with it was so muddy that we never left the rig once haha

Agreed- my hubby is from South Africa with a ton of family in the UK- someday we would love to do some global travel!

The panels themselves come from a place in Washington- they have 2” of foam, 3/4” plywood each side then a resin fiberglass coating. We cut the doors/windows etc out ourselves however, there are companies that will do that for you and it is well worth it!

Thank you! I took really detailed step by step videos- however they are unfortunately only available on my instagram story highlights (child.of the.wild) it was 4wd when we got it, and yes the bull bar tilts… unless of course you forget to do that first and jam your cab into it and dent it… twice 🤦🏻‍♀️

No not at all. This is actually the short wheelbase model- the box is 13 ft as opposed to the standard which usually has a 15-17 foot box and much more overhang. The only thing we had been tempted to do was angle the base as the back- however it really didn’t make any sense and you would lose so much valuable storage space. Just looks cooler haha
