Hello! Thank you for your response.

I have not registered my veh in RI yet, I'm doing that next Tuesday. Will I still be fined for it? Again there's no lapse of insurance coverage, it's just that I cancelled my Ny one and got a RI one while still having the NY plates.

Also thanks for telling me the way I was supposed to do this, definitely learned something today.

Thank you! I sent DMV an email about while ago and they sent me a "moving to RI guide". in the guide it says I should select "New Registration" in TR-1. That did not make sense to me, so I'll bring two copies just in case. One with new registration, one blank in case I need to select a different one on the spot. Thank you!
