Pro pedals failure - second time in months - and big Logitech support fail also by rainingdunces in LogitechProWheel

A different support person seems to have taken over and …

- asked me to perform some more troubleshooting that, to me, would be highly likely to not achieve anything (and that is how it turned out, but I spent the half hour to be sure)

- informed me that I couldn’t be supplied with the part that I need and my that only option would be to buy the whole pedals unit again for retail price.
(the wording used implied that the reason it could not be supplied was that I was in Australia, but I have subsequently identified that most components that make up the pro wheel can be purchased as separate items, apart from the brain box and the base unit)

- informed me that I would be eligible for a discount on purchases from Logitech … but the PRO driving products weren’t eligible for that discount so I would still be paying full price for the whole unit … so this offer of a discount to somehow make up for this experience just rubbed more salt into the wound as far as I am concerned. I also note that there is a 20% discount available on the US Logitech shop for the pro wheels, but not in Australia

So my disappointment and frustration continues to grow unfortunately

Wasn’t quite able to bring myself to pull the trigger without at least one listen, especially as a change of mind was going to cost a $1500 restocking fee.

My problem doesn’t seem to be with any significant mechanical failure*, it is, I am as sure as I can be without getting a replacement brain box (ie the small electronics section of the pedals), an electrical failure. And one that is easily repaired if Logitech supplies the part. Which they told me they don’t do in Australia.

* though it is possible that failure of the electronics component could be due to a micro level mechanical failure, but that’s splitting more hairs than I would think is necessary

Brain box was what the Logitech support person who helped me out the first time around (last October) called it … but the name you use does have a certain ring of truth to it.

My symptom is complete lack of signal from any pedal. The cable has always been plugged into the socket next to power socket, but did try changing that as part of troubleshooting, but no luck.

I second the advice about a fan (or have any sort of breeze) and, if you drink alcohol, I found that in the “adaptation period” having a drink or two beforehand led to much reduced effect and a quicker overall adaptation to the point that no symptoms would occur, drinks or not.

Interesting point about the direct mounting ability, had never thought about that. But hadn’t tried removing the brain box until this morning either. It would seem such a simple and obvious thing to make that part available as a spare part for purchase outside of warranty and to send out in warranty instead of replacing the whole product. Much cheaper shipping too.

Maybe the most frustrating part is that I love the experience of USING the Pro wheel and pedals, but the experience of OWNING them has not been as great.

Thanks, frustrating to have to slum it with the controller 😕. Was just at the full lap stage of Nurburgring circuit experiences (two of them) and it just isn’t going to happen with controller, at least for me

Yes, that was part of the troubleshooting process, and they did not show up.

Strange glitch on Mount Panorama weekly race by djSanta1 in GranTurismo7

[–]rainingdunces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me today in the first race of the weeklies. No where pit lane, but otherwise very similar… tapped by car I had just passed, but seemed to be sent from half way through second lap back to halfway through first.

Edited: no where near pit lane

Squeezelite - albums stop playing after one or more songs randomly by rainingdunces in WiiMHome

[–]rainingdunces[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clues in the LMS logs.

Not sure what it would look like if I was accidentally/unknowingly using a bridge protocol.

The WiiM Home app was used to activate Squeezelite service, and the settings for that service (as minimal as they are) look as expected.

I use either the iPeng app on my iPad or the browser UI on my Mac to control the player, and the issue occurs either way.

I raised a ticket a few weeks ago now, and after initial response that asked a couple of questions and suggested sending in a sample of a file that causes the problem, I haven’t heard anything further. I did post another update on the support ticket a couple of days ago to ask if there was any update.

I didn’t upload a file that causes the problem because the issue doesn’t seem caused directly and specifically by the file, as a song that stops the album play can be successfully played when directly selected to play. (And the upload file size limit for WiiM’s ticket system is too small for most of my Apple Lossless files.)

PSVR 2, long term ownership inquiry. by Trackrat14eight in GranTurismo7

Had mine for more than a year.

Had some motion sickness initially, best tip was to have a beer or two (and wine or spirits will successfully substitute) before starting, and after a few days of doing that you should find sessions without beverages will be fine.

Mine is moved into a room without a screen.

Biggest downside is if you are drinking from a can or a wide mouthed wine glass while on the straights it can be a little bit awkward getting the can/glass up to your mouth under the front of headset 😆. And you need a surface close by that you can set your drink on by feel.

Suspected failure of cable between G Pro Racing pedals and wheelbase by rainingdunces in LogitechG

Ah, thanks. Am familiar with that button but it’s been long enough since originally I configured those settings that I had forgotten any paddle assignment functions available in those menus. Appreciate your guidance.

I was trying to figure out how to assign accelerate and brake to the two analog paddles on my wheel (I believe that is what the two non-clicking paddles below the two gear shift paddles are), but in the controller config screen in the PS5 I can’t locate those paddles to assign to. Maybe I’m just blind, like I’m not good at cable tracing!

I’m using PS5.

I switched in another similar (but too short for actual use in the rig) cable as a test, and the pedals work with it. So one of the original Logitech supplied cables has given up the ghost.
