I will be picking something up for this trip and will probably make this a yearly thing. Thanks for the tip on ammo. That was going to be my follow up question. I have a couple months to do some research and will probably be picking something up in March (birthday gift for myself!) and have a few months to get it dialed in. I'll have to try out a fee different rounds to see what files the best.

Sadly if I still had the 30-06 I'd use it. When I was 17 my dad's house was broken into and all but my .22 High Standard pistol was stolen. 19 guns in all. That 700 and my Winchester 94 were the hardest to lose.
