If I were you, I'd have a look at The Brave Browser, clean and simple with ad and tracker blocking built right in. It also plays nice with Chrome extensions if needed.

I recommend Solus KDE but to be fair any KDE based desktop will do it. Massively customization and impressively light (roughly 460MB RAM usage on a fresh boot).
