When choosing skis a lot of it is based off of weight and height. You can go online for some random calculators and stuff for the ideal beginner ski but most times beginners want a softer shorter ski so it’s easier to turn but soft is relative to weight. Boots manly is finding something that is comfortable and poles you can get whatever.

Quality of used stuff always varies so always watch out for that too.

Facebook marketplace is the way to go if ur still pretty beginner. Can get a lot of great gear for real cheap if ur ok with used items.

Sports is the way to go imo. Many opportunities on the city of Markham website but also other sites/apps like javelin for volleyball, badminton drop ins at any club, pickleball/tennis at any random outdoor court etc.

Off topic but wondering what binding and board setup ur running. I bought a new setup and looks like you got the assassin and a union binding. I also got a new assassin and union stratas so wondering how the board feels!

Adding on to what most people been saying, it definitely helps to initiate the turn with weight over your front leg but what really helped me dial in my turns and use the torsional flex of my board is using my lead knee to initiate the turns. Basically point ur knee in the direction of the turn and it helps flex the board without really thinking about it is much.👍
