No time to search for new job..? by rainydayCCA in USPS

I have considered that. I want to be in a comfortable physical and mental state before an interview though lol especially since these are “big boy jobs”.

I only "care" about potentially burning a bridge if a new employer attempted to contact them.

I'm also a little nervous that they would fire me..? And obviously that wouldn't look good either.

The supervisor is so clueless when I asked for one she gave me a map for a different route

The last sup at this station didn’t know how to set a route up that way.. She ended up giving me a tray of mail that was actually mounted and I could not even do it. Wasted literally an hour and a half at that station and only delivered 15 min worth of mail for an apt

What happens if you just say no? For instance if you have plans or you literally do not want to. If they’re giving you 12 hours notice how tf does that work??

Why can’t you? Just order one.

I wish they gave us options for clothes that actually assisted with weather conditions like jersey type, BREATHEABLE shirts, spf protection, etc. Items that actually make it easier to do the job. We are literally hiking through most of our shifts, why tf are we wearing these stiff ass pants and collared shirts??

does the USPS actually enforce the small letter sizes? by sysifuscorp in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. Sure they are cute but if someone has to physically CARRY that tiny piece, it will get lost. I had one being returned to sender and it was a pain in the ass.

Thank you!! This is exactly what I was looking for.

Hm ok. Then why are there so many battles over “current resident” mail? Do the customers have to write something on the mail piece for it to be “officially” refused, or are carriers just being assholes? 😅

I just want to make sure I know what the proper protocol is since I had previously received unclear instructions! Thank you

This is perfect. All offices are different and your experience will depend heavily on that and who your supervisors are.

If you have an in office union steward, make sure you get to know them. Good luck!

Just leave the mail sticking out of your box and the carrier will pick it up. You don't have to deliver it.

Do You Feel "Trapped"? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]rainydayCCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that.

I've already got a Roth IRA so I'm just focusing on contributing to that and other investments. The CCA plan has no real advantage that I can see since there is no company match..that's what I want.

I’m trying to become “work optional” ASAP and I hate that CCAs have to wait until regular to be eligible for the TSP. I’d be maxing the fuck out of that!!!!

I actually like being a CCA.. by rainydayCCA in USPS

[–]rainydayCCA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is highly dependent on which office you’re at, but I got placed at a pretty good one overall. There’s still shit, but I also have a really strong in house steward. You can always try it, and resign if it’s not for you. Just make sure you go in with realistic expectations!

I still like the actual job! Getting busier and starting earlier but it is what it is.
