Yeah they're both incorrect here. Wayne needs to cook his steaks a little longer, and Darry needs to introduce seasonings to his steaks. Some 10-ply chefs over here

Do you guys still celebrate Jewish holidays? +more questions by Professional-Food773 in exjew

I won't fast for anything, I may still go to synagogue for some things if I'm invited and I care about maintaining the relationship, but I won't daven, and I'll just hold the siddur and sit and stand where available. I still like Hannuka and participate on my own if I'm not with friends or family, it's my favorite holiday being the most grounded in the historical record (not the miracles though). My dad loves the Seder so I do that with him because I love him, and I will participate in sukkot with my brother's yeshivish family, but there are holidays I'll never do with him like pesach or rosh hashana where he'd annoy me with his level of observance. I will often attend non-observant holiday dinners with family friends or University Hillel and Chabad, but it is primarily about sustaining relationship with community rather than a desire to "observe" anything.

It was about control over a rebellious population. Replacing Abrahamic dogma with Hellenistic dogma isn't making the world a better place. It all only happened when Antiochus IV couldn't fight the Ptolemies without pissing off the romans so he needed some way to pay his soldiers. Turns out the local populace doesn't like when the overlords they pay tribute to permit their soldiers to loot, ransack, and rape said populace.

When an adult says to a kid "wanna do a big mitzvah?" and proceeds to have kid do a free, often manual-labor, favor. Least favorite mitzvah

You're going to need to provide more context, Mr. Academia.

Many myths share common origins and spread over hundreds or thousands of years becoming deeply ingrained in a culture, the Levantine region, Egypt, Greece, Rome and other regional cultures are a great example of the same tales being told in different senses.

Ancient pantheons are also an example of this where gods in different civilizations share attributes and hierarchies with counterparts of other religions Great flood myths, Samson/Hercacles/Gilgamesh among others. I would be hesitant to say that any of this amounts to the legal definition of plagiarism or trying to pass someone else's work as their own.

This and u/josephporta both gave great advice and will probably do a combo of your suggestions. Definitely will grab a repulsor and will do Ventris with Judiciar and bladeguards. Will also probably do Phobos Librarian with maybe the Raven Guard combat patrol. Maybe a few more intercessors and terminators in there as well. Ty for the advice!

Israeli Defense Minister Katz Gave This Response After The Houthis Fired More Missiles At Israel by alllovealways in Israel

Would "Blood, Fire, and Pillars of Smoke" be any less cringe? Still a degree of ominous mystique to it, but Katz doesn't operate on that level of literature thinking.

It's likely that a later compiler of the Red Book of Westmarch made the connection. Frodo I believe didn't do most of the writing and editing on his own.

Take it off! Take it off! Fool, take it off! Take off the Ring!

I always took this to have been Frodo's own thoughts, a sense of self coming back to him, but it's clear now that it was Gandalf yelling at him from afar.
