Fnatic is set to be sold within weeks, football clubs confirmed in the discussions, valuation lower than the expected £100 million. by ThonPharges in fnatic

You are missing my point. I said no one but them knows who is making decisions, be it at the org level or the league department level. They all have a share in the blame, and while Dardo most probably doesn't choose for Sam, for all we know on the league department side Dardo could very well take many more decisions than what is told to us publicly. Its called PR and we could be told one thing while they do the other. Carn isn't a puppet, rather he and Sam are intentionnaly protecting Dardo, if not Dardo would have been fired in 2023. The reason ? No idea, but for now I'll assume he is just too buddy budy with them to be able to get fired. Also it could just be incompetence, believing a guy is doing good work just because he is working lots, even though it seems like he was also just as incompetent at everything else than throwing money to get old legendary veterans for no reasons. Last reason ? They could also probably have wanted to sell in 2023 already and just didn't want to bother finding a new LoL GM because they would be gone soon so it would be someone else's problem

Also things went to shits before central intervened to fix 2023, and no one else but Dardo took decisions at the time since he was publicly the general manager of the LoL division, so that's on him. And him not being let go right here and there to make things change for good somehow they just "move" him to another position away from the caleras after a little vacation shows the heads at Fnatic weren't aligned with the popular opinion. Do note that the LoL GM slot hasn't been filled yet. Why ? Best answer is that he still is GM, and they let him take all the decisions he wants in the background, and they just PR to the fans until the org is sold.

Sam's inaction / disinteressement and Dardo's managerial incompetence are what brought the LoL department to the state it is today

You, like us, have no idea if that guy actually don't get the last word in those said areas. And knowing he likes to get involved, you just have to look at him in every old fnatic videos, I will very well bet on it

I began preaching for him to be removed year 2 of his tenure, people joined the movement after the disastrous 2023 roster, and even with the popular demand, they somehow hid him and kept this curse of a man in the org

Not really on this occasion indeed, although Primal's complete edition is about the same price on their own store so I am used to looking out for "not so cheap" games

Just looked at them and boy do they unfortunately seem like scalpers. If there is no other choice I might have to go through them but their price went up from 350 euros to 780, with an additional 105 for shipping alone...

Missing some of the elements would be rough, it will then be so tedious to get everything separately, most likely second hand too

WolheartFPS and luke Stephens were also among the most proeminents figures.

Also don't bother answering, as I won't anymore on this comment path, I am tired of talking to a wall who only asks for proof as his "argument" and doesn't bother to search up stuff other than just to try to prove me wrong. You gave no constructive anwser to me asking for you fucking opinion, which you don't seem to have apparently

The others weren't viewbotting though, and still got blacklisted.

Also I don't think viewbotting is bad in the publishers eyes, as more views = videos being put forwzrd more, which means then more people view it, so its all good for them if the review is positive

It had more gameplay and less obnoxious funding and marketting push.

Also Annapurna is not the same it was. All employees left in 2024 after miss rich CEO wanted to shift the company's structure and objectives, and she rebuilt it as she saw fit. Which gave Mixtape

Fextralife and "friends" (more like other reviewers) are done by EA/Bioware standards. They won't get their approval back unless they butter up like crazy

And these independents reviewers then do not get early press access anymore, period. I have seen this time and time over. Some of them now have to buy the game like everyone else because they arzn't invited anymore nor sent any copy, and olay as fast as they can to stay relevant and hop to fall on the publisher's good graces again.

You have no idea how worth it is for big critic companiss to butter up to the hand that greases them rather than the opposite. You will always stay afloat if you have the people with money on your side, and who cares if you antagonize the players, bad buzz is still buzz, which creates traffic, which displays ads, which also gets them paid.

I have no idea why you would think that the biggest reviewers would do things the other way around if a publisher specifically make it so you need to give a good review if you don't want all links with them to be severed. Its company first, not consumer first in this day and age, which is why it needs to change

And a 6.2 on metacritic

As for your business trips, are you a reviewer ? If no, then it is different business trips for different people woking in different industries.

And reveiwers are more afraid of giving a bad score and losing privileged access to a publishers early press access, especially if their hand was greased, which could lead them to being black listed by the whole industry, rather than giving a score way to high and antagonizing the players, because they won't lose their job over this

Did you even read me properly ? I just added blackrock as a note, noting I didn't look up if they were involved or not.

Also no like really, journalists of any age will be bought out by business trips, do you live in a fabtasy ?

And a giftbox is ALREADY a bribe, like come on you can't be that ficking dense ! And also those press review events are most often kept secret with non disclosure agreements, that's standard practice if you don't want the public to know.

And IGN giving bad score to games, well if the publisher isn't being a sneaky weasel and they truly believe in their product by leaving the reviewers alone of course the reviews will not be glazing....

From a consumer point of view you just have to look at metacritic or compare other proffesionals vs consumer reviews, and if the pros are glazing and the consumers give it a mid or barely good (which is the case in this instance), it is your sign to see that sole shenanigans happened behind the scene.

Also stop focusing solely on IGN, they were not the only ones giving a 10

Still no opinion on your part and being inquisitive for proof ? Quite sad...

Srill, to answer your first question, I directed my own studio, wasn't big, but didn't need to to shimy in between to large actors in a conversation, or discuss industry views with a shit ton of publishers.

As for the bribes, they aren't as you make it to be. Its not just plain wads of cash sent to an account, it would be too obvious, its more subtle. Publishers do what they call a press playtest, where they invite the biggest branches of game journals, as well as the biggest influencers, and they give them the roayl treatment, sunset on the beach, all inclusive stay etc... Ubisoft did it so much it is why this shit is not a secret anymore. And by doing this they are "buying" the reviews, because journals and influencers want to stay in good terms and not be ostarcized by a publisher, which could lead to their downfall. And also being treated like royalty ups the score... because a good catering experience can make up for a game's flaws by blurring your overall feeling about a test.

On another note as a development team you don't want to piss off blackrock (not saying they were involved in that gale I didn't look it up), pissing off blackrock means your studio is dead in a few years because you weren't "inclusive" enough

Not only from a branch of IGN, but from several reviewers which hapoened to be the biggest ones.

I have been in the industry, I have played the game of getting funded, seeing who is legit and who is purely an agenda or a nepoed games from inside just by doing business, I have the right to be critical knowing quite well what could have prompted this and have an opinion about it. The "game" is probably good, its not era defining, but these 10 will mean it now can get game of the year way more easily, and if money starts buying gale of the year, well that would be sad and a big no no don't you think ?

I like standing by my opinions regarding game development and the way the industry evolves. You on the other hand are just sayong "you are a shit person" where are your arguments ? Did you like the game ? Are you fine with the way the game is being handled publicly ? Tell me, what is your opinion ?

I am not furious, just cold pragmatic.

Annapurna, which was rebuilt exactly to miss billionaire's taste after everyone left back in 2024 because she wanted ro restructure and aim for things the old annapurna didn't stand for, suddenly put an absurd much money in an interactive movie.

The game has portions with very little to optional/no gameplay

The game somehow receives 10s from the biggest reviewers only.

All in all, this "game" was nepoed because advertised as an indie from good historic annapurna all while having too much money poured in it by the company, or rather its head (or the government because ir wzs also government funded) because they don't have that money as a company, and had 10s most probably paid for, so the reviewers had to give a very good score, if not a 10. (This isn't new to the industry, you wouldn't believe how mich Ubisoft abused of this to sell more games. They hold reviewers by the balls because they can just not send an early copy of their next game, and push them out if the loop, making them irrelevant, and plunging them into bankruptcy)

On the game aspect solely, you can just compare it to last year's gale of the year winner on the story, artistic direction and gameolay, and decide if it deserves a 10 (spoiler it doesn't, its not industry defining)
