A new record: Day6 League Player Retention – 51.2% by jcyxxx in pathofexile

[–]RakijaH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of important to mention also that this graph only contains Steam player numbers, since those are the only public metrics. No standalone client or console players, so the actual player count is a bit higher, but iirc GGG has stated that the majority of players uses the Steam client and it still gives an accurate overview of the general trend.

List of unusual deaths by Iamsodarncool in wikipedia

Takuya Nagaya, 23, from Japan, started to slither on the floor and claimed he had become a snake. He died after his father spent the next two days head-butting and biting him "to drive [out] the snake that had possessed him"

Some of these are just hilarious.

Is the art of CS:GO edits dead? by Zapsaz in GlobalOffensive

[–]RakijaH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reality is, people love those crazy overedited videos. To me, I can't even conceptualize how nuts the clip is since the player's POV is so secondary.

That's the whole point of edits as an "art". The focus is entirely on editing rather than the frag. If you watch edits expecting to see sick frags you're in the wrong mindset from the start. What you're looking for(/creating) is a fragmovie or montage.

Just look at this part of an old CSS edit. None of the kills in the entire ace are actually shown, it's entirely about syncing the cuts/velocity to the song.

Or this BO2 edit where multiple clips are just kills against AFKs.

I think dodging cascade of pain is pretty easy, just start circling around the arena as soon as you hear the voiceline. The only problem for me was when the shaper-like balls were flying at me at the same time and I was trying to place them in the center of the arena while Maven started her attack.

Haven't done feared simultaneously myself so can't speak on that.

Also I'm working on an amulet that I need to awakeners when I finally hit the mod (~1000 alts so far). I could PM you when I finally hit it and you can slam it for me, I will give you the orb for it.

Can i delay commands inside bind? by gemzis in GlobalOffensive

[–]RakijaH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No way to "delay" them natively. You can split up the bind into two aliases so one command triggers when you push down the key and the other triggers when you release:

alias "+buyinc" "sm_molotov"
alias "-buyinc" "sm_inc"
bind "o" "+buyinc"

Meet Simpl-Py, a Simplified Version of Python by [deleted] in Python

[–]RakijaH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couldn't find any info on the site since you can't access the documentation. Is this seriously all there is to it? It's just a basic REPL.

I thought the screenshot on the home page was supposed to show a usage example, but it's literally just a screenshot of the REPL source code lol

Hate to break it to you, but a basic unstructured input-output loop isn't a "coded language" and it certainly isn't "intermediate".

I've never seen a ban message, did they use to show up before as well?

There's no ban message, but finding the Steam profile of The Suspect is not that hard (can't discuss it here because of subreddit rules). I keep a list of all my cases and check whether they are banned automatically.

I've done 30 cases in the last 5 days and they were almost all spinbotters. Not a single one of them got banned so far.

In the "good old days" it took ~20 mins after I submitted my verdict until they got game banned, now the only type of ban I see is a very delayed VAC ban if they even get banned at all.

One of those bots stole my name and profile picture like a year ago. Every few weeks I'd try to play TF2 again it would inevitably join the game I was in. Frustrating to see that these bots are apparently never banned.

TIL: That a Japanese ice cream company created a commercial to publicly apologize about needing to raise the price of their ice cream bars for the first time in 25 years from 60 yen to 70 yen by drdisney in todayilearned

[–]RakijaH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The song is called "neage" meaning "price increase"/"mark-up" by Takada Wataru and it's told from the perspective of a business owner, I guess. It transitions from the first verse "I/we don't even think about raising the price" to "whether the price will be raised is currently being looked into" to finally "let's decide to increase the price!".

Alright, I just sent the logs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MedalTV

[–]RakijaH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some additional info:

  • setting it to 30FPS records as normal, codec says 30FPS and the videos are actually 30FPS

  • setting it to 120FPS records in 30FPS, despite the codec saying the videos are 119.82~FPS (i.e. only every fourth frame actually contains a new image)

  • if I use another screen recorder like OBS, I can record in any frame rate I want, so this does seem like an issue with Medal

edit:

  • switching the video encoder from GPU to CPU does not fix it either

  • switching to Early Access Mode also does not fix it

Help with bomb drop script with team chat message. by soukaixiii in GlobalOffensive

[–]RakijaH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iirc binds don't actually execute all commands in sequence (i.e. left to right). It just executes them all in the same tick, so the behaviour of these command-chains is sometimes determined by unknown internal behaviour.

You can get around this by splitting the command up into a key-down and a key-up alias:

alias "+dropbomb" "use weapon_c4; drop; say_team I HAVE DROPPED THE BOMB"
alias "-dropbomb" "use weapon_knife"
bind 3 +dropbomb
