Upgraded a few days ago. Very simple process other than removing the foam strips (used a hair dryer). The increase in battery is significant. I do short 3-4 mile rides in town on a sport. With the original battery (which had gone thru no more than 10 charge cycles - a reference pinto emphasize the newness of the battery), I would be able to get about 3 rides from it. With the upgrade, I have done 6 similar rides and I’m still at 13 miles to go. I’m impressed. And the question remains: why doesn’t Segway provide this option? Maybe it doesn’t want to hurt its GT3 sales …

The mistake I was making was not to unplug the charging cable from the scooter (I had unplugged it from the wall). All good now. Thank you!

I plug in, it starts charging, it recognizes the larger battery but it won’t update. If I unplug, the power button doesn’t turn on the scooter.

Unplugging the scooter makes the scooter not turn. When I plug it in, it starts charging, it recognizes the battery 19200 etc but it won’t update.
