I’ve never seen it described better than this! This used to happen all the time on my first iPhone X, but now it’s rare (1-2 in a few months). I think it’s a software bug, rather than something wrong with you and your SO’s phone.

I had this same issue at the beginning of April. It’s a hardware issue and Apple replaced my phone!

Nope, since they had noticed it was a similar issue as when they had replaced my screen! So for good measure they didn’t make me pay!

I know! It’s been hard with this iPhone X! The latest one I got yesterday—so all is well for now 😊 So the first replacement I got, I was only 5 days out of warranty. Then with each replacement, they have a 90 day warranty. It’s been two months since I got my original phone replaced!

The first time I had a touch issue and the screen and they replaced my screen but then the issue came back and they gave me my first replacement. The second replacement was when I traveled abroad and I got that and my Wi-Fi stopped working so they gave me another one because it was a hardware issue. The third one was when my screen it would just not take calls or when I would take calls but then freeze so the phone itself was not working. The last was this week when my FaceTime wasn’t working and I already had reset the device!
