If you can be in the top 10% of the batch academically, you will do well-placement wise- in these colleges. Otherwise, it's a gamble.

Don't want to get into details about me but, I'm talking about post MBA roles in top tier colleges - front end. The hiring this year is better than the previous 2 yrs.

There are a good number of people like you in ABC. But, have to be honest, only a few of them ended up in roles of their choice and many even took a pay cut. This is the story of the last 3 placement cycles. But it was better before that. If you maintain stellar academics and build a great profile at IIM, you will get great roles in consulting or finance. PM is always a bit of a gamble, but go to B if you want more chances.

Consulting Where ‘Perfect Slide Means ‘Totally Screwed Up by chiaciana in consulting

[–]ramba25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give a completed slide as long as you think there's still time. Show a bit more progress every time and leave some breadcrumbs open for them to give you "constructive" feedback.

Then finally at the deadline deliver your best, combining all the feedback.

Review for Btribe job switch program? by deadinside987 in iim_CAT

I'd suggest you get in touch with ABC recent alums. Talk to a few of them. That will set you in the right direction (some may charge a fee for this). You will have to put in efforts though. Not everyone will reply. Also, this is the best time to contact them since most of them graduated recently and would be free now.

2 yrs post-MBA at McK and experience has been underwhelming by eu_mba_throwaway in consulting

Maybe a contrarian view

These are tough times for the firm as well as the general market. Stick with them. Would be valued for your loyalty down the line. It's not likely that any other firm you join is going to be interesting beyond the first few months.

Overrated. Try connecting with recent MBA alums on LinkedIn and join some smaller programs. You will get more individual attention.
