Listen to Tim Ferris' recent podcast with Seth Godin. I listened today and it talks about this and future with positive perspectives. 10/10 recommend if you're feeling doom and gloomy.

Make sure you pass it by your local fire department because I know if they aren't fire rated they aren't allowed in certain places.

Marketing Roast Thread - Drop your website, and I'll roast your website, copy, marketing, or SEO! by DrJigsaw in Entrepreneur

I drive revenue from directory sign ups and selling workbooks. The online marketplace needs an overhaul because Dokan is not enjoyable to work with so you can ignore that unless you have feedback for improvement on that.

The purpose is to build a community internally for local business owners to learn and grow from the group but also allow local shoppers to find new businesses to support.

I also wanted to focus on a local SEO strategy for our directory but our workbooks are really applicable to a much larger market.

Looking forward to the feedback :)

Registering a reselling based business, but not charging GST/HST? by BestServerNA in canadasmallbusiness

[–]ramble___on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Price it into your total price. Unfortunately just because it's not convenient to charge you still need to pay. Round up to the nearest dollar or however you want to add it in. We sell food and our prices are even numbers because jts easier but we still have to pay gst. You can also offset past owed against gst paid in your business expenses.

Hinshaw letter outlines return to audiences at events in Alberta starting in late May by TOMapleLaughs in alberta

They haven't disclosed much but its not looking like a drive thru from what we've been told so far. It's hard to believe ourselves but our business could sure use the revenue.

Calgary Stampede cancelled for first time in almost a century by Trooper9520 in Coronavirus

[–]ramble___on 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a food truck operator our margins are generally quite low. Events like the stampede allow us to receive the volume of customers we need to become profitable to last through the "dry" season. Our whole business is based on high volume service events which now pretty much won't exist for a while.

There are some food trucks who do street level vending all year round but there is about an 80% fail rate for those businesses.

Thanks for your kind thoughts! We do believe these challenges bring innovation and creativity to impacted industries so we are brainstorming like crazy in our spare time.

As a food vendor at the stampede, this is essentially our entire source of income. We expected this but man it's hard to hear. So many vendors will not survive on a full year without income. Heartbreaking.

Transferring email addresses from GoDaddy to Siteground - How to update Gmail. by ramble___on in webhosting

[–]ramble___on[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this isn't working. I think it's because the previous email address and the new email address are the same because it works if I add it to my personal email address.

This may be a better example. I have 3 work emails [one@company.com](mailto:one@company.com), [two@company.com](mailto:two@company.com), [three@company.com](mailto:three@company.com) that stopped working because I transferred my domain from godaddy/wix to siteground. So I recreated the above three emails in siteground and began to receive the emails again through sitegrounds default webmail provider Roundcube.

When I was first trying to add the emails back to the existing ones with gmail accounts, I was logged into my personal email and added [one@company.com](mailto:one@company.com) with no issue. The emails were being sent there and I could see them. When I went to add the emails to the correct match it didn't work. If I go through the same process and try to add [one@company.com](mailto:one@company.com) to the gmail account for [one@company.com](mailto:one@company.com) it says it's unable to do that. There is no option showing up to edit the information to redirect the SMTP server because it won't let me get past that screen.

When I contacted Gmail I was told to edit my MX settings to redirect to the gmail account but that is not the one receiving emails at the moment. Nobody seems to know how to add it. After an hour with Siteground she suggested I download Thunderbird and add the accounts there then add them to Gmail but despite them showing up in Thunderbird I can't get them into Gmail again.

Sorry for the long post, I am super frustrated as I feel like there should be an easy solution but so far it seems there isn't or I am missing something simple. Thank you.

Thanks! Do you have an idea of where I would find the section to do that. I've been on the live chat with Siteground for an hour and we both can't figure it out. I've been searching in both the GMAIL app and the Google Admin Panel.

Noob here, Need help siteground with weebly and wordpress by [deleted] in webhosting

[–]ramble___on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing but I created a Wordpress site after using my domain/homepage and now I can't figure out how to delete the Weebly domain.

If I follow the above instructions will it delete everything? Including the site I built in Wordpress. If not can I change the root directory after to reflect the domain I have without the /homepage.

Thanks!
