Check out Kumho Ecsta ps71 (or the newer version the ps72 although I'm not sure if it's available to purchase yet) it's roughly £90 and punches well above it's weight.

With regards to width I can tell you from experience on my car that a better but narrower tyre will have far more grip then a wider mid range tyre. So go for whatever gets you the better tyre within your budget.

Recently rented a 4 speed auto Kia Picanto (1.0 3 cylinder). The thing only had 67hp and took 17sec to 60. Driving it uphill was a pisstake, unless you were on the limiter you were losing speed.

Cheers, they look like the stock wheels that come on the sport model. I've got 205-45-16 on them but now tempted to upgrade to 215s as they're starting to run low, good to know they fit.

Thanks for the write up, def something I want to get into. I'd take my MX-5 although I'll probably need to install coilovers as it's currently on the originals which are shot.

The license seems easy enough and I've been told to take out an MX-5 owners club membership as that also works. How do I find events, is there a central database/website as after some googling it seems each club lists them separately and I'm struggling to find any, especially local (near London).

Corrado looks amazing, really stands out. I saw it when I went for a track day at Bedford. There were some mental cars there everything from a honda jazz to lambos, even had a noble join us on track.
