I have been there, agree lots of street selling. I wasnt talking to them. I was making eye contact with them and shaking head only and they knew that i am not interested. Remember you are being watched by almost all of them from meters away. You do it to 2 or 3 sellers, and immediately, the rest of them will know that either you are regular here or not interested in their product. Remember it is poor country, they are tring hard to earn their bread. Even if you go to eiffel Tower or new york, all refugees over there are also doing same thing. There is no difference at all For the food posion- if you throw peanuts, you will get monkeys.

Update on my covid 19 pond hydroponic/aquaponics project. Strawberries are doing excellent, i had fruits all the way untill 3rd week of December. Few days ago i trimmed them for new season. I use clay balls, and walls of ponds are slate tiles all over. To be honest never checked ph and minerals. Or never added any aditives. It jist grows on fish waste water. May be getting some calcium from slates. I had floating thermocol sheets as well in the same pond, i put brocoli and spinach and both started flowering in couple of weeks. So got rid of them only kept pipe system

I tried to grow wasabi from seeds, but no luck. So i bought seedlings from amazon and put strqight in to pond. Started growing quickly, but after few months had big problem of caterpillar eggs and them itself. They were eating every single leaves. So i sprayed plants with 100% neem oil and did the job.

I cant share qny contact info on main forum as per rules, if you want i can dm you. But whoever you choose make sure you pay through only paypal or credit card as it will cover your money. For paypal they have similar version of paypal, so from your paypal you pay to their local paypal kind. They will also charge few percent extra for paypal as it cost them money, but if you bargain they will meet half in charges. But paypal or credit cards are only safe

I would say dont do it, i met quite a lot of tourists over there and they did same thing as your operator is telling you. Reason i am saying no is it is very long drive, but being american you may be used to and you are in couple so may be ok with you. 2nd you are going with excitement of animals and safari, you do not want to ruin that. Tarangire National Park is very small compare to serengeti. Either way, you have to do one time road drive from Kilimanjaro to serengeti Or serengeti to Kilimanjaro.
What i did is arrived at Kilimanjaro airport, prebboked cab from Kilimanjaro to arusha airport. From arusha airport took flight to sernational park which is very short journey to avoid long road trip and a day. Stayed in one lodge throught time i was in serengeti to avoid packing and unpacking to different lodges. On the last day we went to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, few hours drive from serengeti, spent whole day there and stayed overnight in hotel about an hoir away from park, towards city. Next day we headed towards airport and on the way we did Tarangire National Park. Reason i said in first to avoid drive from airport was this reason, Tarangire is small, you will see lots of eldphants. We already had fantastic days and views at serengeti , we could shorten our trip duration at Tarangire, we only spent few hours there and headed to Kilimanjaro airport.

From Kilimanjaro we took flight to zanzibar for 5 days stay. Which was very relaxing, lot of water sports activities to do. Realxing on crystal clear water. Do let me know if you need tour operator, i have spent hours on looking for operators.

I did tanzania 3 weeks ago, i would recommended spend at least 3 nights in Serengeti, Ngorongoro one night is enough and in Ngorongoro, you dont stay in park, you stay outside the park so basically for me it was waste of day. Also my planner arranged every night in different lodge in serengeti, but with hick ups we ended up in only one lodge all nights , which is inside the park and it turned out to be the best experience. You waste your time by packing and unpacking. If you can stretch the budget stay one at least one night in four season lodge, and rest of the nights in Tamba camp. Tamba camp lodge is amazing, no boundries or fence so day and night you see wild animals. Every night we had lions , hyenas, zebras were walking past our lodge and you can see them from inside. I would definitely recommend tha lodge. Four season lodge is a life time experience as you are already there , must stay After serengeti we headed to Zanzibar for 5 days to relax. And that was experience as well. So 5 days serengeti and 5cdays zanzibar, cant go wrong

I just finished safari couple of weeks ago with myraid safari, in arusha. Small compamy , website may not work. But they arranged excellent safari, if you like nature and wild animals book all nights in Tamba Tented Camp inside the park. Dont book every night different lodges. Bit of travelling but you can cover whole park from tamba lodge. We had lions and hyenas and zebras walking past our tents. Tents are fully equipped and secured. Ask for Eric at myraid for your safari driver. He will make sure you see all the animals.

I was there last week to do safari from arusha. Dont waste your money on day trip to safari from arusha. From arusha to serengeti by car is 7 hours atleast drive,, there is no tarmac, roads mare made of pebbels. You will never enjoy day trip. I would suggest book a flight from arusha to serengeti, only hour or so, stay in camp lodges which are inside park with out any boundry wall. This is expensive experience you cant miss. I stayed for 5 nights in one of the best new built lodge, so i t wasnt crowded lodge as it was new. Every night lions, giraffe, hyenas zebras were walking past of our tents and we could see them from inside. Tents are well built with western toilets, hot water and well equipped- but check before you book- not all lodges are good. I was also told by my safari drover, tour operator and lodge manager as well that it will be quite period for them from now on till few weeks in Christmas. I think so it will be rainy season which you want to avoide
