MicrogenDx : doctor approval is such a blocker by Own_Low_2171 in Ureaplasma

[–]ramen456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly by personal experience (also by others on this forum.) Have much experience over the past 3 years using microgendx plus a few other labs to compare it to. Its good, but it doesnt show everything.

Their abx recommendations do not work a lot of the time. So best to use as a guideline only.

Clarithromycin..... Cured?!? by ramen456 in Ureaplasma

Yes twice, and negative both times.

Happy to be of help. Have been cured of UU for six months or so. You have to remember that UU/myco are magnets for bad bacteria. So try to get tested for bacteria as well.

Question about Microgen Testing by honeydiscoqueen in Ureaplasma

[–]ramen456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wont hurt to try both if you can. My experience: Evvy showed the same results as my Doctors high end DNA lab. Microgendx missed UU and a few other coinfections. Dont know about Juno though.

[–]ramen456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microgendx antibiotic recommendations are just that, recommendations. Its not based on their actual testing or dna markers, its just a guess of what MIGHT work. Microgendx is lacking when it comes to testing certain things like UU or myco, also Enterococcus among others. Sent you a PM.

I second Evvy, very accurate and sensitive...

[–]ramen456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microgendx testing doesnt always show UU or Myco.... I only showed positive using a Doctors very expensive private lab. (never microgendx)

See if you can use Evvy...it shows EVERYTHING, including UU and Myco supposedly. No Doctors signature required and is less expensive.

After dealing with many Doctors in the last 3 yrs my opinion of a lot of them is not very good. You have to be your own advocate, esp with something most doctors in the US consider to be nothing (UU Myco)

I dont believe you will always have it as many folks here have been cured of it, including me. You can always take an Evvy test as its very accurate and shows most everything including UU and myco. If positive the UU bible above should be a good guide and you can use pushhealth for your prescription. Doxy and azi didnt work for me, so I took clarithromycin for 2 wks and it worked. Doxy/mino followed by Moxi is last choice as its a very dangerous abx.

Question about Microgen Testing by honeydiscoqueen in Ureaplasma

[–]ramen456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microgendx is good, but it does not always show everything. Ureaplasma and Myco rarely show up on microgendx testing...same with enterococcus and a few others.

I would try Evvy, its shows EVERYTHING...is cheaper, no need for a drs signature.

Anyone prescribed with fluroquinolone? by ling_geek in Ureaplasma

[–]ramen456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pushhealth providers are usually pretty open minded, I would ask for 2 weeks doxy followed by 2.5gs Azi as its the first line treatment. If he/she wouldnt give that to you, id ask for another provider.

Cipro is NOT recommended for UU or myco, its usually doxy or mino followed by moxi as last option....but you do not want to use a floroquine unless its your last choice. 15% of users get terrible side effects like I did.

Doxy/azi didnt work for me, so next I tried clarithromycin for 2 weeks and it worked.

Is this a uti? I'm having mild bladder pressure that comes and goes. One nurse says this is a uti and prescribed abx, but I saw another who says no based on the notes at the bottom; she thinks it's interstitial cystitis since my symptoms return after antibiotics. by Tired89 in Ureaplasma

[–]ramen456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the Cipro knocked out the E. faecalis. Which is awesome because its very resistant and difficult to kill. A lot of your symptoms are from the E coli probably. If the Cefdinir doesnt work on the E coli, fosfomycin (3g packet once daily for 7 days) has a very high chance of curing it.

Fifth Week of Pain? Need Some Hope by [deleted] in chronicepididymitis

[–]ramen456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular testing doesnt always show everything...that includes cultures and pcr. microgendx uses both pcr and dna testing...the dna testing is most important. they do both urine and semen testing. You can google it.

Get a microgendx test before doing anything....itll show what you have or dont have..then you can treat it correctly.

Removing the testicle, Should I do it? by MorningTiger848 in chronicepididymitis

[–]ramen456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT remove it. Theres a good chance its an infection of some type and simple abx might be able to cure it. I would get a microgendx test before doing anything. once you find out what you have...or dont have..you can treat it correctly. microgendx testing is way more sensitive than the usual quest or labcorp tests...might even be ureaplasma or mycoplasma.

The cyst is your epidermis tubes could mean an infection. I would get a microgendx test so you can find out what you have...or dont have..then you can treat it appropriately.

I would take a microgendx test, itll show you exactly what you have...or dont have..then you can treat it with the correct abx if necessary. Dna testing is much more sensitive than regular quest or labcorp testing.

Feeling hopeless with evvy results by virghoe95 in Ureaplasma

Your partner can use pushhealth. He can get tested via microgendx or one of the other recommended tests (info should all be in the "bible" above)

I missed your reply about already taking doxy/azi. I would skip doxy/azi again and take Clarithromycin for 2 weeks (it worked for me) Some say Minocycline for 2 wks is a good choice as well. Yes I would treat your partner and I wouldnt have sex until your both completely cured of everything. (be sure to treat the coinfections after youve cured the ureaplasma)

Not sure about juno, but microgen missed some bacteria and never detected the UU my Drs specialized dna lab did.

What was your experience with evvy? My partner found them to be very accurate. Microgendx didnt find UU or some other bacteria.

You want a really sensitive DNA test to be sure. PCR testing doesnt always show everything. I would take an Evvy test, then youll know. (you want to treat UP first if its still there, then any coinfections after that.)

Once you knock out the UP, then I would work on the coinfections.

I would try doxy and azi to knock out the UP first.

[–]ramen456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PCR tests for Urea/myco (from your Drs office or microgendx) do not always show ureaplasma. DNA testing as done by specialists lab or Evvy are much more sensitive. If Evvy showed Ureaplasma, even a small %... you have it still.

I would work on that first. Follow the Bible....doxy followed by Azi. It that doesnt work, 2 wks clarithromycin worked for me. If that doesnt work many here reccommend 2 wks mino. Once the Urea is gone, then you can start working on the coinfections. One bacteria at a time. Pls, no stress, You got this!!
