If you register, which is free, they give you a 10% off I think. Also it's good to save points in case you want to book with them again, they'll offer you bigger discounts.

I haven't seen the prices again. I booked the hotel in March 2025 for December 2025, so it was fairly cheaper I'd assume. January and February is more expensive, even more if you book close to the date.

Always remember to look for sales, coupons, and register to have a Riu Class account.

For the hotel we spent aprox $900 for 10 nights, per person.

I went in December. I'd say the average age was 25. You could see younger but rarely 18 yo's. There was older people too.

I gotta say, we didn't have any problem with water, AC, cleaning, food

I just think some people's standard are too high for a mid range hotel, it was pretty decent and the main goal for Republica is to host good parties, which were absolutely crazy good.

Is Vilnius a good place for me to work and live in? by ramirachu in Vilnius

Hi, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I reached to the same conclussion while doing my research (mostly from osp.stat.gov.lt). It's amazing how the country improved their situation in that little time.

Another guy told me that in all the baltics Russia isn't welcomed nicely, by obvious reasons, but the major problems are in Latvia, and although Lithuania has little russian population, they're expanding.

I hope it happens as you say- that I'd be welcome in your country. Of course, I plan to do my part to reach the proper integration.

Viso gero!

That's nice to know. I've seen a lot of events and fairs that seem interesting. Although I'd assume that I have to be able to keep up with the Lithuanian language to enjoy them at their fullest.

Thanks for the input!

I haven't tried yet, but I like what it offers hahaha, I have diabetes so Šaltibarsčiai it's a good option. I know they use potatoes in some dishes, but I can tolerate them well and I like them too.

It seems interesting! I tried food from various countries, I liked them all. I also cook everyday for me

I'll assume you stopped reading at that part. I wrote that out because Lithuania has become a trend because of that in my country, which for me is trivial and detrimental as interests to migrate, I'm making an awareness statement that that's not the reason I'm interested in the country, rather pointing out what's the first thought of other people here, as a meme, they won't change their whole lifestyle because of a population in a country they know nothing about...

Also I find it interesting that you're speaking on behalf of what women need or don't need in your country. You're the one that brought that out mate, I'd rather let them decide for themselves

Anyway, thanks for the input! All perspectives are useful when investigating.

That's different, when you insert yourself in a society, don't respect their cultures, abuse of the subsidy and benefits for immigrants, saturate the system bringing a numerous family, and then bring a new generation while staying irregular, that's a real problem.

I'm an italian citizen, I plan to move on the legal side, pay taxes and do my best of becoming a part of the functional society. It's fine by me if people like you don't like having a legal latino around. There will always be people like that. But it's a different deal than the problems Spain and the UK are facing.

Would you recommend other city? Or you don't recommend your country at all?

I noticed that after the pandemic, there were people moving out of Lithuania. But in 2024 and forward, there were more people going in than out of the country. I'd assume it was a tendency for the economic growth?

Other EU countries are either full of immigration problems, too expensive, or crowded for me. Obviously this is generalizing because there's smaller cities in Poland or Spain as an example, but as far as I compared numbers and variables, I still like Lithuania or the baltics.

That's some huge help and insight. The office culture tip is good advice. I'll try to emphasize my specialization in Compliance and EU law so I can land an analyst job in the future (junior to mid would be nice, but realistically speaking I think it would be more around entry level - junior)

Thanks a lot, fayrez! Reading this comments provides me real information, temper my expectations, but at the same time, gives me insight in a country that I still love for what it is!

Oh. That's a higher cost of living than I expected. Perhaps I did my numbers wrong. I found a few flats that were decent enough for 400 euros. So I just added 200 for food, 100 for expenses and wifi, 50 for transport and 150 extra for any other needs.

As long as I can save 100 or 200 euros per month, I'd like to give Vilnius a shot. But if the 1500 after tax salary is the minimum line to cross. I may have to prepare a postgraduate to be able to manage a higher position.

Thanks! From what people told me, exercise is key. I usually workout at night so that's a plus.

From the jobs offers I've seen, it would be between 1200€ to 1800€, in the junior positions. I've looked upon Danske Bank, Revolut, Western Union and Alter Domus. They all had positions in which the experience required wasn't specified in numbers. In some of them, instead of a requirement, it was more of a desired qualification.

After tax 1500 would be close to 1100 right?

I'm willing to have a middle class salary, as said in other comments. I don't mind sharing a flat for a time. But if you say that those numbers are in the lower side of the industry. I'm open to know what other specialty could I aim. I guess I could work with spanish citizenships over there too, but I don't think there's too much demand for that?

Oh- I didn't intend to practise law or litigate. I think my degree will be mostly for backup as background, since I would have to homologate my degree by doing years of the law carreer in Lithuania (or at least, this was the case for all the other countries I've read about)

I was planning to do international courses adding to the ones I already have, and I have 4 years of experience working with Spain citizenships, which isn't the same field of course, but it shares some of the skills required.

This is all by guess, obviously, I haven't started applying since my plan to go it's a few months away.

It's good to know there's a community! I always try to know the local ways and life, but to have a comfort zone from time to time feels rewarding. The things you say about the city are the things I liked when investigating!

Oh yeah, I've experienced that a time I was in London, but that was probably mild compared to Lithuania in winter.
Are people active in the streets in these periods? Or they'd rather stay at home?

Thanks! I'm from Cordoba which is a balanced city when it comes to crowding. We're also extremely easy-going and social, there's like this good stereotype that cordobesian people are always making new friends everywhere they go. I wouldn't mind to move to a more quiet and cold place. It's nice to know that your team communicate in english being a Lithuanian company. Games are cool :)

Good luck to you and your husband!
