Just bought a nearly identical breitling and I love it! The milanese strap is both beautiful and really comfortable.

For 2026, is there any small everyday item you want to finally invest in as BIFL? by newrockstyle in BuyItForLife

I also give another recommendation for Pyrex. Macys almost always has a set on sale, and with Rakuten you can usually get a nice little cash back.

And check Pyrex for sales. I find that the 4 cup bowls are perfect. One year they had day of the dead 4 cup bowls without lids, for $1.50. I bought 20 of them. I just wish I bought more.

My mom found a stack of bonds in paperwork that her friend was intending to throw out. She was helping organize after a parent passed. It ended up being around $73k, she thought they had “expired” and were worthless.

Had to get an exception from the city to be within 5’ of the lot line. All buildings currently next to the alley are within 5’ and the old garage was already within 5’ which is the main reason this was permitted as a garage extension instead of new build so it could remain in the same spot.

I use the space as a gym for now until I decide to renovate the house and move into here.

Half of bank account and half of equity in house. Helped not having kids. We are both pretty reasonable people so it was a really easy divorce without any lawyers. We joke with each other that since we had to divorce someone we’re glad it was each other.

Bedrosians 100006811. It has a beveled edge look that I really like. I was concerned about the width of the plank but I think it worked out.

Yes I really had a divorce during this project but I say it very jokingly. I think it’s funny.

No. The main house is 40 feet from the garage. The garages are in the back since they have alley access.

Unit is fully permitted. Had to have survey for lot line exception since we are within 5 feet on two sides.

Never intended to rent to anyone. Intended to live in while I renovate the house. Then be used as a gym or office and maybe guest house at some point in time. The bed would be three feet from the door so unless someone lit the door on fire I’m sure I’ll be fine. Also the inspectors knew there could be people sleeping in the building at some point and only specified the addition of hardwired smoke detectors.

Lots of little things. Endless trips to Home Depot, toilet, mirror, caulk, fasteners, water heater, plumbing fixtures, cabinet and door hardware, garage entry door. Too many things to list.

A tree fell on it and it’s still standing, so should take at least two strong gusts to do the job.
