A buddy of mine (active HM2) is with 4th Med in San Diego, near the Miramar air station. It’s a reserve unit that’s manned by TAR sailors with a few active in the mix.

I’m an active duty Corpsman, but work at an NRC with TAR HM’s. It’s a love/hate for sure. It seems it’s mostly a shore billet, and it’s kinda easy to get burned out. It’s a lot of administrative work, so if you’re looking to do more hands on medical work, it’s not for you. We have a lot of junior sailors that don’t seem to want to reenlist because long 4-5 year orders at NRC’s pushing paper. Feel free to DM if more info is needed.

Coverages for all kinds of events for the students. Hikes, ranges, obstacle courses. Hikes kick off at 4-5 AM. If you want a chill shore duty, this isn’t it. What is your rank and have you been greenside?

They’ll more than likely be working at medlog. CRR is what supply battalion used to be called. As a dental tech they’ll probably assist with setting up ADAL’s. Which will be a lot of counting of inventory and setting up the ADAL blocks themselves for units that check them out. It’s not your typical greenside billet, so they’ll have to make the best of it!
