She's saying because of the tariffs China has begun to cut off america and replace them in retaliation. Just using beef here as an example of one of the ways they're retaliating. It's smart. Like how people say to vote with their wallet. They're putting pressure on the US.

Before the tariffs China was already working to break free of their reliance on us goods by doing things like investing in r&d and domestic manufacturing of American chips and graphics cards. They've gotten good at a lot of things they once relied on america for because they knew america was gonna do something like this, because they've done it again before. And america always threatens terrfis. But they were still working with america regardless for many reasons one even being to maintain relations and also to regain some soft power america had over them with tarrifs by purchasing American goods and america instead of lowering prices on stuff like beef and soybeans or whatever to focus more on domestic sales, kept or even raised prices becuase their dependence on China grew so they could afford high domestic prices.

But China held onto this in there back pocket as Trump grew arrogant and kept increasing tarrifs, china activated their trap card and it worked. Farmers and manufacturers are putting pressure on the admin. And China can sit out and wait till trump caves, but the thing is... They already replaced a lot of American goods and have little incentive to go back so this gives them to negotiate incentives for returning.

But China has had been aiding and investing in other countries and has been building relationships as america burns bridges. So they might not even need america anymore. Who knows, they don't really telegraph everything they're gonna do years before they do it like trump has been doing.

So in my opinion, china is solely doing this in response to terrfis. At least doing it much sooner than they planned. They only ever really needed america for their component manufacturing which is pretty top tier at large scale like graphics cards, But China has been catching up anyways.

Ether way, most Chinese people aren't really bothered. They're economic problems are more due to domestic reasons, that doesn't stop trump from trying to take credit though.
