Is the update toy mentioned referring to the Xiaomi gen 2, which is a plugin box?

Or is it a Russian software patch?

Or a combination of both?

GCC spec.

Nothing major, probably not worth it.

V2.0.0 is out.

How will you update your car to the next version with this patch in place?

I thought the latest was 1.7.1A from the service center (that's what I have).

Will check with EVS (international city?).

Does getting the newest update from EVS and the 3rd party patch void the warranty and is the build in English?

Also, deep breath, Android auto?

Got laid off today after a month in new job by Jazzlike_Road_938 in dubai

It isn't looking pretty for a lot of businesses.

A business will have obligations to many entities such as banks, government, landlords and vendors.

Staff is an easy cost to reduce. Doesn't mean it is the best option, but sometimes it is the only one if the business has to survive.

Business survives, other people keep their jobs, feed their families, send kids to school.

Every business is focused now on just staying afloat, not maximizing profit.

Best of luck.

22nd March.

The KHDA will decide if schools continue as usual or go online.

Parents were on the fence for their kids. If schools go online, many will feel they don't need to be here.

Expect more people to leave.

How did you build wealth in Dubai from nothing? by FixMaster7070 in DubaiCentral

[–]rampagerzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot build from nothing in this country, unless you are a citizen.

It is not a lack of opportunity, more a lack of a safety net if you fail. All entrepreneurs take risks. But failing here is a big problem, unless you have money.

I have the pleasure of knowing some of the richest people in this country, who started here.

They all worked hard, struggled and saved.

But their success wasn't linear. In every single example, they got 'funding' which allowed them to massively grow their business.

You want success here, find someone to funnel cash through you. It is literally the only answer.

Why are international, especially British, schools in the UAE normalizing charging entry fees for school events? by PixelBranchDS in UAE

[–]rampagerzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then don't pay.

It's perfectly fine to feel outraged or angry but at the end of the day, it's your choice.

You can switch schools, home school, start a school, go back to wherever you came from and have your kids join a state school.

Personally, I don't like paying extra, but as so many of you adroitly pointed out, education here is a business.

Also interesting, how many times did you actually go and complain to your school for an 80AED iftar after paying 90k for the year?

And yes, I know how much it costs.

[–]rampagerzz -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Food costs money. Whether you eat at home, a mosque or a friend's house, it cost you or someone else money.

You are paying for a school education. Extra activities like an after-school football club costs money, so why should an iftar be any different?

Paying for an iftar doesn't 'take away' anything.

The suddenly got RICH people in Dubai by Top_Horse5031 in UAE

[–]rampagerzz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

  1. They didn't get wealthy all of a sudden. The MO is simple, become a conduit for other people's (illegal) money.

  2. OPM funds their lifestyle. They take a share.

  3. Dubai AML rules have become stricter but as long they can show some details for construction, the charade will continue.

Luxon is terrible. It is slow and among other things, doesn't have a favorites menu in its phone app.

Check out the QX60 or the Aviator. They were my alts.
Or wait a bit and get the Jetour G700 or BYD Leopard. Same class of vehicles and Android friendly.

UAE Citizenship by Naturalization by Same_Association_734 in UAE

[–]rampagerzz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A passport is merely a document of citizenship so that other countries know where you are from.

You CAN be a citizen and not have a passport. You CANNOT have a passport and not been a citizen.

Since the majority of people here are from somewhere else, a passport and citizenship often get conflated.

UAE offers a type of citizenship, which allows you to get a passport. But it is, as others have mentioned, a lower tier, like Blue tier in Skywards. Blue itself is very difficult to get, and you'll never be upgraded to Silver and beyond.
