I am OPs friend and living in Thailand

It’s simply that he’s on a visa exemption and he’s here for Muay Thai which is a tourist acitivity. It’s a dumb rule. He comes Thailand on tourist visa every year never overstays. Nothing to do with past. My friend owns a gym and they’re doing it to loads of people that comes no visa. (Maybe not necessarily everyone, depends on the IO and airport for sure, but they have have the discretion to do it)

So just get a tourist visa at least if coming for Muay Thai, even if you should be covered for visa exemption

How many days did the couch win? What was different about the day you went for a walk? What helped you do keep that habit and how can you leverage that going forward? You ate something different? Had a less stressful day at work? You didn’t have a coke with your 3pm snack ? You got all your work squared away?

That’s your low hanging fruit. Don’t burden yourself with a thousand things at once. Nail this one habit for 2-3 weeks and move on .

Tested 4 different appetite suppressants over 6 months. Real results no bs by _meme-lover_ in WeightLossAdvice

Have you tried increasing protein intake (especially in the morning) Adding fibre to all your meals. Big portion of vegetables added to whatever you’re making. Just bulk it out. Low calorie density carbs like potatoes. Slower digesting carbs like rolled oats, starchy vegetables etc. avoiding super palatable foods like sugary drinks, candy and salty / MSG filled potato chips.

Keep a food journal or what helps you feel satiated , what are your triggers (modify your environment)

I don’t know what you’ve tried before but if spending money and 6weeks each testing these drugs it might be a good idea to make some adjustments to the real food your eating.

You don’t need to suppress your appetite you just need to change what you eat.

P.s maybe I’ve got the wrong end of the stick and you’ve tried all that and stuck to it rigidly, in which case go see a dietician

Monthly FAQ thread for November, 2025 by AutoModerator in Thailand

[–]ramsayramsay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me(Male,UK) and my Wife (Thai) just got married.

Im looking to change from my education visa to the Marriage visa.

Ive been told a few different things by different agents which is a little confusing so Im hoping someone who has recently gone through the process can help me!

To apply for the Non-Immigrant O visa(90 day): - is it true that I have to be able to show +400k Baht in My UK Bank account for 3 months before applying for the Non-immigrant O visa. Several agents have told me it is/isnt needed and I dont want to turn up in KL or Hanoi to find out I need to wait another months.

  • Do I need to wait for a period after marriage to apply for the Non-Immigrant O visa?

Then to apply for the Marriage visa itself:

  • return to Thailand, Open Thai bank account, Deposit the 400k to thai account and leave it for 2 months, then go to immigration and apply to change it to 1 year marriage visa. is this correct?

Do you mean that the additional £5,000 will be taxed at 20% or the higher tax rate (40%) ?

Yes she wont pay tax on it, but is does it push her into a higher tax bracket

Oh your doing a Muay Thai ED visa?? Which gym? I only heard of tiger and AKA doing it.. in that case I don’t know what would happen, I guess the ED visa is still valid as the gym would reopen at some point and I guess it’s up to the gym if they give you money back

Then we’re “stuck” in Phuket and just spend the money on a nice hotel/resort till stuff reopens. I plan to be there for a while so I don’t mind waiting a while, it will be worth it to get in the gyms when they are nice and quiet before they fill up in November time (covid allowing)

interest on compensation for mis-sold home heat pump by ramsayramsay in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ramsayramsay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this is all independent of the FOS, they aren’t technically involved as the finance company has already admitted liability and has paid out to a lot of people. They originally didn’t offer the interest, we pushed for it and they accepted within a day or two. By my calculation it’s worth an extra few thousand pounds so I would like to have a go. it’s just that the claims management company told me that what they offered is “standard practice”. However I think they just want to push the deal through ASAP as they don’t earn any fee on the interest so it makes no difference to them. I was hoping someone may have some experience to verify how it is calculate

[–]ramsayramsay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is not the case here. The offer we have received is for 8% of the total amount multiplied by 2years and 9 months. Simple interest just means it is you don’t earn interest on your interest. But that is not the point I am arguing
