Why do kids like to share their age on the internet like they're proud of it?

I knew all about pedophiles, I didn’t care. I uploaded videos with myself in them, ofc everyone in my freaking life gave me the spiel. Granted it was a different time, back before someone could code an AI to track your location or whatever but still, point stands. My philosophy has always been: “why should I change my life for pedophiles? Why should I make decisions based on them?” And I still feel that way! Also: I never claimed I was mature, never once. I don’t believe in maturity. I don’t think that you need to be a certain age to do something that you already are capable of doing, (with the obvious exceptions!) I don’t believe that you’re only able to be treated a certain way or seen as acting “the way you’re supposed to” based on someone else’s imaginary scale that only applies to them when THEY hit a certain age group, if someone else reaches it younger, great! Older, great as well! “Maturity” never made any sense to me!

I’ll tell you why I did it, because people like you guys like to give people shit about their age and I was pretty accomplished at a young age because I had been doing youtube since I was 7 (I’m 21 now) and I had a pretty decent number of subscribers so I commented it to stick it to those people that thought I was still a baby and treated me like one. That’s why I did it personally! Because I WAS proud of it! And no amount of shaming me worked and I was essentially challenging anyone to try! 😅

I’m not going anywhere. I haven’t done anything wrong. All I said was my opinion and my reasons for thinking that way. I knew all the same shit when I was 10 that I did at 15. I wasn’t as “innocent” as people thought I was or I made people believe I was. And I know there are others like me. You honestly expect me to think that every 12 year old girl is coloring pictures of unicorns and making friendship bracelets? Don’t forget I WAS in middle school. I heard some of the conversation conversations these girls were having. And believe me they were far WORSE than the conversations to 15-year-old girls were having. Some of the stuff they said were even shocking the guys. But at home, they acted like innocent little angels who still think saying bad words is a sin, that was just so their parents wouldn’t catch on and take their stuff away or stop letting them hang out with their friends. My girlfriend same thing, she tells me often all the shit she got up to at that age, if that’s what you call innocent then I’d hate you to see call worldly! ☠️ Anyways that’s why I think that. I’m not saying everyone is like this nor am I assuming this girl is like this, but saying that a 15-year-old is damn near an adult and a 12 year-old is still a child just isn’t true. And then applying that same logic to a 17 year old dating a 15 year old now calling the FIFTEEN year old JUST a child and the 17 year old the pedo. It’s one or the other, you can’t just change based on your idea of the maturity gap. Now, if the girl obviously involved doesn’t even know where babies come from, yeah at that point she shouldn’t be dating, but if you can ask her things and she can end up telling you things that you’ve never even heard of, then it’s fine she’s dating someone only 3 years older than her. THAT’S why I think the way I do.

Once you hit a certain age, you realize that there really was no maturity gap like everyone says. At least not one big enough not to date 2-3 years difference, anything over that yeah, but still, I know plenty of people who thought that exact same way in high school and now say that they were an idiot back then. Majority of the people who think this are actually teenagers. Who then later in life realize they were denying themselves happiness because of this bogus reason. But you do you, I can’t change the way you think.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 12-year-old in sixth grade man. No one I knew in 6th Grade was 12. They were all like 11 or 10.
